Operation Graveyard
"The plot's amazing and thrilling. Your work's so suspenseful It's been a while since I have read something like this. And Evan's gf Isabella is the name of the main character in my book. So it was even more interesting. "
I was hooked.
"I loved this story. For the first time in a long while, I didnt want it to end. It was so intruiging and suspenseful. Excellent job done."

Mr and Mrs ... Graveyard Dudes?
"(completed) I'm not exactly sure what I was expecting from this, but whatever the case, it certainly didn't disappoint! The opening was very different from any I've read before - it was abrupt but engaging and instantly drew me in.; it set the tone well for the rest of the story, I enjoyed the humourous approach taken; I've seen it attempted before in horror/action novels, but it usually comes across as forced and out of place, but it worked very well here. It made the story even more engaging, especially naming him "Graveyard Dude" and the remark about how the person to scream "do something!" never actually does anything themselves xD Little quips like that made his character very relatable and all the more realistic. The characters were well written and we learned a lot about them. There was a fair bit of information told rather than shown at the start, but as the storyline progressed, this changed for the better. The dialogue was good too and read like something you'd actually hear people saying in real-life, rather than the usual robotic formalities you so often read in stories, so props to the writer for that! The descriptions were great too - gory and vivid, but not just for the sake of it; they were woven well into the narrative and definitely had me making "yucky faces" like the girls at times xD Really good job with this! :)"
Operation Graveyard
"It's a great excerpt to read in spare time, no need to click next chapter when there is not any, which is a big help to slow working devices. The characters are well written out and so is the plot, its very specific in direction but leaves some space for suspense and reaction. Technical skills also on point due to the fact that, that was the point to it all, which is very clever to point out. The writing style is also very good, you can read it in one sitting if you are anything of a fast reader. Another great story from Brian Zylla, kudos to you, and great job! "
Operation Graveyard (Dude)
"When I first opened it and noticed how long it was, I was worried it would be one of those that dragged on and really needed to be broken up, but I was so glad I was wrong. The way it starts out is quite inventive, hint at the action with the narrator explaining his story through a hasty written note. His voice comes alive as he explains what got them there, each and every character. And he felt like the average, frat boy Joe with an affinity for sports betting. While there was a little more info dumping and a bit more telling in the beginning, it didn't feel out of place or bring it down. It helped bring to life this guy, who wasn't an average writer, explaining his thriller to life. The details were well done and the action scenes superb. Many of the reactions, especially those when it came to the Graveyard Dudes, felt realistic. Even the fact Isabella, Eva and Evans lasted the longest was a pleasant surprise. In any horror movie, one of them would have been the first to die and one would miss all the development that came during their fight, like how Isabella was the jealous type. All in all, this was such a high paced thriller that sucks you in immediately. I'd recommend it to anyone. "
Cabin in the Woods Part 2
"Wow! At first, I was a bit confused in the way it just jumped into things (partly because of how Inkitt formatted this on the app). I thought it was the author writing. But it was one of things that though you were confused, you kept reading because you just HAD to know what was going on. Once I realized it was written like a diary, I was really intrigued and excited! Now all I have to say is this short story was a frat-boy diary of Cabin in the Woods. Literally. If you enjoyed Cabin in the Woods, or any B-rated SYFY movie, you’ll want to check this book out! It really is cool how it made me completely understand what was going on so much that I could visualize it! Multiple things are important to remember while reading, though. Take this story as you would one of those aforementioned movies. It’s gory, it’s sexual (or at least alluding), it’s funny in a way that is completely stupid. The only thing I wish was better was the grammar because at times (and I won’t say because I don’t want to spoil anything) it was difficult to follow along or understand what was happening, like with the story transitions. A reason why I gave 4 stars in the grammar category. Once it’s fixed I’ll change it to 5, and if the grammar issues had just been in the diary part I would have given it a 5 anyway. But the transition in the end was just too much to go unnoticed, seeing as it was the ending of the story, and has the possibility to confuse readers. A really great thing I enjoyed, as someone who has a disturbing appreciation for both Cabin in the Woods and B-rated SYFY movies, is the thought process behind it all and how it ended. Nice job! I definitely recommend this story to those who are basically looking for a gory, yet amusing tale! I really enjoyed it!"
Be Prepared to be Sucked In
"One Chapter?! My first thought was, "Oh no, this is going to be one of those looong, drawn out stories that needs to be chopped up into smaller chunks, seriously... Or, it's going to be too short to be worthy of calling a story." But, as they say, "Never Assume!" Brian brings us a nail-biting, edge-of-your-seat 'zombie' thriller as told through the eyes of quick-witted Evan, who is writing his account down hurriedly as he's not sure whether or not he's going to make it out alive, hoping that his tale will help someone else out there. He begins the story with an apology for his writing, knowing that he's rushed. Here we note that Brian does an excellent job with dialogue, reminding us every now and then that Evan is telling us his story, all the while reliving the events of his story in vivid action. *As a side note, there are some punctuation and technical errors, though I purposefully neglected to mark it down in my rating, as Evan did warn us from the get-go! ;) Evan, as the protagonist, may be no saint, but is closer to the 'average Joe' than the other characters, making him very relatable and likable. I found myself very much wrapped up in his account, hoping that he was going to pull through this ordeal. The overall plot gives you a bit of the stereotypical cheesy zombie feel, but it's usually countered with a much more reasonable action. This is evident when the group attempting to make their way to the boat suddenly finds themselves with just the right amount of various weapons, and you're sure the group is going to be free and clear easy-peasy. At first glance, you'd say this was too perfect, yet we're brought down a notch when more zombies appear unexpectedly on the boat! The end of the story is another nod to eroding the stereotypical. No, there will be no spoilers from me here! But, it was pleasantly unexpected!! While I'm not a huge horror or zombie fan necessarily, I felt that Brian outdid himself with bringing the zombies and gory scenes to life. Said scenes were inserted appropriately and not overly done. Normally, gory scenes (blood and flesh tearing) can put me off, Yet, Brian has already sucked you into the story so well at this point, that there's no way you're going to put it down - not now! Humor - this story is on point in this department! It's not overly done and is utilized in just the right places - mostly in what Evan is thinking in the spur of the moment. This makes the story more believable, and I was pleased that he never became an omnipresent narrator, trying to tell us what the others are thinking when he wouldn't know. Evan's narration instantly reminded me of Marvel's Antman's friend, Luis (Michael Pena), who hilariously recaps what had happened by taking us through an extended, sped-up visual monologue. This factor is what I think made this story appropriately ONE CHAPTER long! There's no way to have broken it down, and at the rate the reader is carried away, a chapter break would have ruined the moment! As a warning, make sure that you have a fair amount of time to embark on this tale, for it will be extremely difficult to put down! If you're into zombies, you should enjoy this one a lot. If zombies aren't your thing, you might want to give it a try anyways! I'm glad I did! I look forward to reading more of Brian's work in the future!"
5 stars!

Operation Graveyard
"This was a very intriguing story, what i really thought was fascinating was the horror with added humour. The plot was amazing, my favourite character was indeed Evans, he was very brave and also very comical with his sayings. What intrigued me even more was when the Colonel and the Lieutenant made an appearance, that brought the story to a whole new level i was utterly flabbergasted at the end. This story truly is very enjoyable and i would encourage anyone to read it. Once again a fantastic story by an amazing writer 🤩"
Wonderful Plot
"Wow! A wonderful plot! I really enjoyed how you described each character. It was like I watching a movie hanging on to the edge of my seat. There were moments of laughter where I could not help myself sitting up reading with a big grin on my face holding my chest! Wonderfully written! I cant wait to read the next stories you have published!"
Operation Graveyard's Review
"The party at the beginning of the story reminded me of one of the shark movies. Then it turned out to be a horror with a lot of comedy in between. The author has certainly known how to grip the readers into his story. I hope the story would continue, thou. I highly recommend Operation Graveyard to everyone who fancies horror."
I loved it!
"This was overall really great very suspenseful lots of twists and turns and definitely has a sense of reality well it seems very very real"
Operation Graveyard
"It was definitely a bit different from my preferred reading genres, but it was pretty good. There were times where I was a bit confused on the course of events flowing through the story but what happened after mostly cleared it up for me. I think it was a good book and the grammar and punctuation was really good, too. Overall, it was a good story. Keep up the good work! I did edit my review as I was new at reading this kind of story so I took a while in re-reading it. I read it again and I did change my whole rating on it. It's a good story, take a chance and read it, it won't disappoint. Great job, Brian 🎉"
Dude!
"An amazing island party turns to get me off this man eating island!!! Lots of WTF moments. Love it!"
OMGarsh Great!
"When I first started reading this I was like ooooh, I am going to like this, someone is writing a deathbed detailed letter of the events that got them....well dead...YES! As I am reading I realize WOW I am right there, being pulled into the story by how detailed the author is in explaining a scene, smell, color, or look. The smell though...ugh my stomach is still churning, good job! Then out of no where, OH SHIT what the hell was that, (I am thinking to myself). The twist, turns, and the freaking, "Kung Fu kicks in a cheap "B" movie", direct quote from the story. By the end of the story I was like NOOOOO this cannot be, however, it was. Right when I thought yeah, I have this figured out noPe. This story had me on the edge of my seat, I could not wait to finish it and when I did I was like DAMN the author did it AGAIN with that MIND F*****Y! Great JOB on the story, once again you did NOT disappoint! Thank you for the GREAT read!!!! Keep it up, I cannot wait to see what you have next!"
