A Thoughtful and Beautifully Written Collection
"(This review is written in the capacity of Judge for the SCA Awards, and encompasses only the first five poems of this collection. With that being said, I enjoyed this selection so much that I will continue to finish the entire collection afterwards!) L. A. Ruel presents a thoughtful and beautifully written collection of poetry which will not disappoint. She wisely uses a nice, broad vocabulary to convey messages and emotion, while creating a lot of good imagery. Nothing too cumbersome for the average reader, but affluent enough to show off her lovely writing skills. Touching on tough, emotional, relatable subjects, she presents an original, fresh, optimistic, yet realist view. Her poems are fully packed with emotion and depth, as she adeptly brings out truths and alternative ways of looking at ideas, others, and ourselves. I highly recommend!"

"I'm not a very avid poetry reader, but the summary of this book really drew me in. It includes four poems until now -- two of which I can relate to, one I loved the style of but didn't really understand (which is absolutely on me, as I said, I'm not good with poetry) and the fourth and last one stunned and hit me really deep. Awesome work! This goes on my favorites list, and I'll be definitely be back if you update :)"
My Confessions to the Scribe
"The pieces in this anthology speak well to its readers. It's pretty relatable if I do say so myself. Some pieces were profound for me and it's interesting too because it helped me gain new perspective in life. That is to say, I'd like to give kudos to the writer! For a non-native English speaker, the poems were written well. However, as I've said in the comments, I hope the writer will pay more attention to their usage of punctuation. I feel like that could be a vast part of improvement for the entire thing. It's not that bad, but it still has room for improvement. The writer has potential. Keep writing! :D"
