Audree’s POV

Hi! I am Audree Valencia, a 16-year-old student at Collin Fonté International School (CFIS) taking up the Accountancy, Business, and Management (ABM) strand to become a future CPA Lawyer at my dad’s company, or maybe my dad’s best friend’s company? To be honest, I don’t know either but, I am certain that I belong to the business field because I have always been interested in finances and I love a good challenge. Some say I am rather persuasive, and good at negotiations. On the legal side, I guess you can say I take up from my mother as she was quite a lawyer before she decided to be a hands-on mother to me. She now works as a legal consultant at a law firm owned by our neighbor. She also helps my dad run the company from time to time. Today is my first day in school as a Senior High Student and I am so nervous because I barely know anyone except--

“Auds hurry up! We’re gonna be late for school! By the way, Good Morning Tita, Tito!”

Speaking of the devil… That is our neighbor’s son, Zachary Garcia, aka my best friend since birth. Although he was born a bit earlier than I was, a hundred and thirty-nine days to be exact, we go to the same school and are in the same level. He also took up the ABM Strand as he wants to study Economics in college as his pre-law of course, to eventually take law and work at their law firm… I guess?

“Auds come on! It’s the first day of school today! You wouldn’t wanna be stared at for being late would you?”

“Alright I’m coming! Geez you’re too excited! We’ve got about an hour to go before homeroom starts and, it takes only 15-30 minutes to get to school. I don’t even get why you’re still here when you could go there on your own.” I said as I roll my eyes at him.

“Hey missy don’t get me started with that attitude. Besides, we basically live next door and Kuya Roberto told me we should just go together since it’s the same place and time. Now come on! We wouldn’t wanna keep Kuya Roberto waiting any longer.” He said while ruffling my hair and pulling me towards the car.

*dugdugdugdug*Oh my gosh, why is my heart beating so fast? It must be my nerves kicking in as I am not really a social butterfly unlike Zach, who easily gets along with others.

Nothing really happened during the car ride. We just talked about our expectations and plans this school year.

As we arrived at school, Zach and I first went to the bulletin board to check our room assignments and schedules. Unluckily, Zach and I aren’t classmates although our classrooms are beside each other.. just like our houses pfft. We went our separate ways 15 minutes before classes start. I was looking for a vacant seat when I hear a familiar voice.

“Audree? Oh my gosh, is that you? Uhm… hi I don’t know if you remember me but I’m Kaia, We were in the same class last year too.”

She looks familiar though I can’t really pinpoint when I talked to her last year... Or if I even did but, at least I know someone already.

“Oh hey Kaia! Uhh is the seat beside you taken?”

“Nope! Not at all, you can sit here if you want” she says as she removes her bag on the chair.

I shyly smiled at her as I took the seat beside her.

The bell rang and everyone rushed into their seats while anxiously waiting for our homeroom adviser. After a few minutes, our teacher came in and greeted us. She introduced herself and asked us to do the same. Grunts and groans were heard from the students in class. Well, I mean who likes introducing themselves? Anyways, nothing much really happened today, and we were dismissed at 12:00PM sharp. I bid goodbye to Kaia as I see Zach waiting for me in the front door. I hear the girls whispering and giggling while looking at him.

“You didn’t have to wait for me, you could’ve waited for me at the car” I told him after I sighed.

“Hey, what’s with the long face? Let’s eat out! Where do you wanna eat? My treat!”

“No thanks, I’d rather spend the rest of my day in my bed thank you” I said as I smiled sweetly to him.

“Hey come on! We might not get to spend a lot of time together because of our hectic schedules soon.” He said while pouting.

“Yeah yeah whatever let’s just order delivery at my place. Ok?”

“Got it! I’m guessing four-cheese pizza, double cheeseburger, large fries and coke float?”

I looked at him wide-eyed “Did you just read my mind?”. He just laughed at me and shook his head.

When we got into our neighborhood, Zach went home to change his clothes before he went to my house and ordered delivery. We started stuffing ourselves with the greasy food while watching our favorite movies. Just like the old times…

Little did I know that from here on then… things would start changing… I could only wish to freeze time and stay at this very moment…
