Fragments of Life
"This beautiful collection explores different emotions and parts of life through evocative imagery, strong word choice, and clear voice. With the backdrop of nature, Hollie builds these complex feelings of loss, life, time's passage, trauma and more using images familiar like season's changes (one of my favorites being Autumn where Hollie uses all the sense to transport the reader into the season, great reminder to slow down and take stock of what's around us in all its various forms), scarecrows, footsteps on the ground, seeds, leaves, and much more. There's a huge emphasis on autumn-specific symbols like falling leaves, scarecrows, and jack-o'-lanterns, bringing feelings of loss, cycle of life, the duality of light and dark, among others to light. Despite the name Fragments, these poems have definitive beginnings and endings, clear images, natural rhythm and consist rhyme when used. The first poem describing a seed waiting to bloom despite their love and desire and attempts to bring life was the perfect contrast to showing different facets of life in the sidewalk's millions of steps---life waiting to bloom versus life's different stages. Both poems are beautiful and powerful on their own and work well as the bookends to the collection. There were one or two moments where word choice could've been tweaked but it didn't affect the poem as a whole. Beautiful collection! "
Vivid poetic images
"Very vivid images come up for me when I read these poems. Delicate, careful, and precise words really bring out what the author is trying to get across. This was a lovely read and a few poems that I will definitely return to. The author did a great job of describing what was on her soul and heart. Thank you!"

"I really enjoyed reading this collection! I especially love your use of figurative language and imagery and that really got me immersed in your works! I think you have the potential for some really powerful works here. The Moors is already there (that one really got me) but I think with just a few more tweaks your other works can reach that too! I think your style flowed nice and I only really noticed one spelling mistake too. I think your themes in the poems themselves could be a little stronger, but I did like that you carried over themes between your works. I think that gives a great bit of connection between all your works, so that was really cool to see! You have a knack for taking everyday ideas (like leaves or a jack-o lantern or a street) and finding the poetic beauty/emotion behind it, which was my favourite part of your works. Overall, I immensely enjoyed reading this collection and I can’t wait to see what you have in store for the future! Well done!"

"This review was written as part of the MVP Awards. As I haven't read the entire collection, my feedback refers mainly to the first two poems. The first poems of "Fragments" are playful, romantic and create beautiful images. They strike me as sensitive and melancholic - and evoke a certain longing for a time in the year when we welcome silence and reflect on things close to our hearts. There is not much to criticise, except that I would like to see more symbolism and a little more depth. Otherwise, I think lovers of classic, romantic nature poetry will greatly appreciate this little collection. However, a quick look at the title list shows that there will also be poems with different themes - as the title says: 'fragments' from our lives :-) (P.S. It is difficult to give stars for poetry collections as Inkitt does not distinguish between fiction writing and poetry in its rating categories). "
A Burst
"I could be wrong but the impression I got from this poem is that it was mostly written in a burst, not built slowly over a couple of days. Something about the pace brings a certain zeal to it. It's a good interpretation of a universally sought idea. My only criticism would be for you to invent new phrases and bend the poetic affordance more."
