“Hey, Aaron!” A cheerfully annoying female voice called out from behind the brown haired boy as he was talking to a couple of his friends. Groans erupted from his mouth, and annoyed look appeared on his handsome face as he whipped around to face her.
Golden eyes narrowed in anger. “Look, girl,” He spat, “I don’t like you, and I won’t ever like you... ever.” He emphasized the word ever as he glared down at the bespectacled girl. Her own silver eyes widened in hurt and shock. The classroom that they were in had grown quiet as everyone went silent. Eyes darted back and forth between the girl and the angry boy, like as if they were in a volleyball match.
“A-Aaron.” The girl said weakly, her eyes darted to her classmates before focusing on the girl in front of her. Her face went from pale white to a bright red as she saw that all of her classmates were staring at them, evidently waiting to see what would happen next.
The guy rolled his eyes in dust and continued, “Besides, who would want to date you anyway?” A few oohs escaped from the students that had been listening in on the loud conversation. The dark golden eyes that had been narrowed before raked over the trembling girl’s body and face and a cruel smirk appeared on his lips. “You’re ugly and fat...” The classroom erupted into hoots and taunting as the students approved what had been said.
No longer than a few seconds after those words left the boy’s mouth, he felt a sudden guilt bloom in his stomach as he saw humiliation fill the girl’s silver eyes. A loud smack echoed around the room, and the boy clutched his redden cheek, and the classroom grew silent once more. Eyes zeroed in on the handprint that had imprinted on the pale cheek. It seemed that the whole class was holding its breath to see what the boy would say or do. But nothing came, as the said person stared at the girl in front of him with wide eyes.
“Damn you, Aaron!” Monique Leviska sobbed, before rushing out of the classroom with hot tears in her eyes. “I’ll make you pay. I’ll make you swallow those words and beg on your knees for forgiveness.” She added over her shoulders before the door swung closed. Aaron Demetry’s own eyes followed the crying girl out of the room. A sinking feeling in his stomach made him wonder if he had just made the gravest mistake of his life. Those words that he had uttered; little did he know, would indeed come back to haunt him in the future.
