The Great Crimson War ripped the fabric of society asunder, plunging humanity into a maelstrom of conflict that spanned nearly 2 decades, consuming lives in its relentless march towards an uncertain future. saw 2 diametrically opposite factions, The Ruthanites, led Elijah and his sister Ruth Miller, against The Crimson Empire, led by Empress Astrid Bush. A woman who's tragic story turned her into a sympathetic villain seeking identity, resolute, and unchecked vengeance. Yet, as the fledgling colony burgeoned into a bastion of independence, with ideological schisms that threatened to sunder the fragile peace between Erdos and Mercia.
Technology progressed remarkably slow over a thousand year period to a level decades if not 100 years ahead of Early to mid 21st century Earth whether by a lack of ambition for a manifest destiny or warfare. Pulsed Ram Augmented Interstellar Rockets powered flight and allowed for some gravity on thrust alone, though Rotating sections offered a more permanent posting in space as opposed to constant acceleration. Which gave way to Rotating Space stations in orbit over Erdos, and it's moons, Pollux and Castor, as well as Mercia and it's colonies. Transparent glass looking devices which resemble smartphones and pads dominated every day life.
