Eat, Sleep, Poop!

Sofiya: Please let this poor girl watch something online.

Baji: Errr...I am working. Besides, you’re not supposed to have any screen time.

Sofiya tilts her head and makes sad eyes at Baji.

Sofiya: Please! I haven’t seen anything since morning. I must watch something now.

Baji: Must?

Sofiya: Yes, Baji. I must.

Baji: There’s nothing you “must” do besides eat, sleep, and shit.

Ammi: I’ll thank you for not using such words when talking to my daughter? She picks up everything quickly.

Sofiya quickly adds...

Sofiya: Yes, Baji. Could you not use such words when talking to me? I pick up everything quickly.

Baji: Yes, you do. Okay then, I won’t if you tell me which one of these is a bad word: eat, sleep, or shit?

Ammi: Really?

Sofiya: Sleep?

Ammi: Really? Sleep?

Baji: Why sleep?

Sofiya: Because I don’t want to, but Mummy always makes me.

Baji: Why, Mummy? Must you torture this poor girl so?

Sofiya: Yes, Mummy. Please don’t torture me so.

Ammi: Why, you turncoat!

Sofiya: What’s a turncoat?

Baji: A nasty word. I’ll thank you for not using such terms for my niece. Shame on you!

Sofiya: Hahaha! Shame on you, Mummy! Turncoat! TURNCOAT! TURNCOAAAAAAT!

Ammi: Look what you’re teaching my daughter. But there’s no point talking to you. Allah! Give me sabr to deal with you!

Baji: Aameen!

Sofiya: Aameen!

Baji: By the way, the bad word is supposed to be ‘shit.’ Although I don’t see why it’s bad. What else am I supposed to say? Some childish shit like doo-doo? Poop? Dump? Dung?

Ammi: Baji, PLEASE! By God, you’re hopeless!

Ammi walks away in a huff.

Sofiya: Baji, what’s so bad about shit? I do it every day.

Baji: And a very nice thing you do. Wait till you have to clean it yourself.

Sofiya: I do. I hand the wet tissues to Mummy when she’s cleaning me. And I also use the potty.

Baji: Ah! My summer child! Anyway, what do you want to watch?

Sofiya: Mmm, I don’t know.

Baji: You don’t know what you “must” watch? I see.

Sofiya: Show me something nice, no?

Baji: Sigh! I am going to watch ‘The Wheels of The Bus’ for the 1000th time, no?

Sofiya: Hee hee! :D

Piece of Cake

YukkeTee: This isn’t just a romance. It’s the kind of slow-burn, messy kind of love that feels real—where two people carry scars and walls, and still choose each other anyway. The tension isn’t just between them; it’s in the quiet moments, the way they fumble through vulnerability, and the small, unspoken act...

Demon101: Firstly- The story was very sweet and cute... So yes I absolutely loved it. Secondly- The plot was sweet. Your writing skills are amazing. Your vocabulary is amazing just a little bit of auto correct errors I guess but they could be fixed couldn't they...also talking about an epilogue like the other...

angeliccove: I like the way it’s written, as if Iona is talking to the readers. Moving constantly from the past to present; letting readers in into the misunderstanding, heartache, loss, etc. I’m glad it’s a happy ending. Love it!
