The Arranged Marriage
2 weeks. It has been 2 weeks since I’ve been running from my father and his pack.
Let me explain.
My name is Katerina Amelia Decardo. My father is Richard Decardo. He is the second most powerful alpha in the country. We were close. Key word: were. A couple of years ago my mother died in a rouge attack. It was just a normal day that turned to hell.
~Flashback~
I walked downstairs to go get some lunch as I was starving! I haven’t eaten all day.
As I was walking downstairs, I could here my dad talking to his pack.
I found it strange, I am his daughter and I wasn’t notified that there was a pack meeting. I decided to hide around the corner and listened in on what my father was saying.
"-ould like to announce that my daughter-”
That got me interested since I am apart of this and I was not told about the pack meeting. Me being me, I decided to still listen in.
"- will be put into an arranged marriage. As I announce this my daughter has not been notified of it so please do not tell her until I have had a chance to speak to her. Thank you. Meeting over.”
As everyone dispersed, it felt as if my feet were glued to the ground. My throat went dry and my tongue felt as if it was sand paper. I just had so many questions.
Why did my father not discuss this with me first?
Was it so I had no choice but to do it because he had already announced my arranged marriage?
Why would he not let me find my soulmate? I know I was not looking forward to being bound with someone. I would rather have my other half than some stranger.
How could he do this to me?
My father saw me and started walking over. I was too angry to face him.
Forgetting about my lunch, as I felt sick to my stomach, I ran upstairs to hide in my room because my feet somehow functioned.
As I was about to slam my door, a foot stopped it. My father pushed open the door.
"Look, I know that was not the ideal way to figure out that you are going to be in an ar-" I cut him off.
" No, dad. You can’t force love. You need to stop controlling MY life. Just because you lost your love doesn’t mean you get to take away mine!” I screamed. I didn’t even process what I was saying until it hit me. I just had to hit him where it hurt didn’t I? I needed to apologize.
“I-” I tried to explain but my father cut me off.
"No. I already announced that you will be having an arranged marriage. That’s final.”
"But I want to find my soulmate! You can’t expect me to be o-"
Katerina! I said that’s final! Enough!” My father yelled slamming the door behind him.
~End of Flashback~
And that is how I got here, running from my helpless father and his pack who are still looking for me. I have almost been caught at least 4 times in the past 2 weeks.
I was knocked out of my thoughts when a force slammed my wolf form into a large oak tree.
The force knocked out all the air that was left in my lungs out.
I was disoriented for a good minute. As I regained focus I noticed a huge - and by huge I mean HUGE - wolf barring his teeth at me. I know for a fact he was not from my father’s pack because he would kill any of his pack members if they hurt me.
I realize I am on a different pack ground and I, at the moment, am a rouge.
And it is not some normal pack’s ground, no. It is the most powerful pack in the world and it belongs to...
