THIRD PERSON'S POV:-
Anaya finally took the sigh of relief after a week of a home-shifting headache. But finally, she was able to shift and unpack everything within a week. The apartment was big and the rent was not too much. It was less than the budget she had created for the rent. She was so sure that there was something wrong with the apartment that's why the landlord agreed on that rent.
After the cleanup and a long hot shower, she was free to do whatever she had to do. She grabbed a book from her shelf and her phone with the ear plugs. She shut all the extra lights of the apartment and made her way towards the living room. She sat down on the swing couch she had in the living room. She played a slow music playlist on her phone as she opened the book. As she had already ordered a pizza, she didn't have to cook.
It was the winter season. The apartment was very open but the windows were packed. So the temperature of the inside of her apartment was not so chilly. While reading the book, she started getting sweaty. Her eyes went towards the heater. To her surprise, it was off. She didn't turn it on at all.
She set the book on the mini table in front of her and hopped off of the swing couch. She looked around for the source of the heat but found nothing. Until she stepped into the kitchen and found all her stoves and even her over burning. Her eyes widened as she quickly turned them off. She looked for the main switch of the gas to turn it off. But to her surprise, the gas switch was off. "How in hell the stoves were burning?" She spoke to herself. Then she just shrugged and went back towards the living room.
As she stepped into the living room, she was surprised again. The living room was drowned in darkness. She tried all the buttons to turn on the lights. But she failed. "Of course, that was the reason why this apartment was this cheap. I have to call a handyman tomorrow to get this place checked. That moron landlord, he will pay for this." She spoke to herself as she went towards her bedroom to grab a torch she had.
She went towards the living room again and found all the candles were burning. "Did I light up the candles and go to grab the torch?" She thought to herself as she looked around. She shrugged as it was one of the habits she had. She could forget things very easily. She blew off all the candles and went back towards the swing couch. She sat down and grabbed the book. Suddenly, all the lights of her apartment turned on. She groaned in annoyance as she stood up and went to check if there was a problem.
To her surprise, the lights were turned on. The buttons were not off. She frowned but turned off all the lights. She went back towards the living room and found the candles burning again. She growled loudly as she went to blow the candles off. Each candle she blew off, they lit up again. This time she shivered in fear. She looked around but she was definitely alone in the apartment. She grabbed the bottle of water she had on the table and splashed the water all over the candles with a devilish smirk on her face.
But instead of turning off, the candles' little flames became the flames of the burners. She fell on the ground, terrified of the scene in front of her eyes. She quickly dragged herself out of the room. She went back into the kitchen to grab a bottle of water. She felt that the water would help with the shakiness.
As she entered the kitchen, she found the book she was reading, it was on fire. She quickly filled a bowl with water and threw it on the book. But by then, the book had already turned into ashes. There was nothing left of it but a tiny piece of page that was left unburned. She picked up the piece of paper and read it. "Get out or die. Choose wisely because your life depends on it." She growled in anger as she was convinced that there was someone else in the apartment who was trying to scare her off.
"Alright! This isn't funny at all. I know you are here. Come out or I am calling the cops. You know what happens next if I call the cops." She yelled as she walked out of the kitchen and went towards the living room again. To her surprise, her phone was no longer in the living room.
The song she played, she heard it was playing somewhere. She stepped out of the living room, following the sound of the song. She reached her bedroom where she found her phone and the torch. They were on her bedside table. She grabbed her phone and looked around. Suddenly, all the lights of her apartment turned on then they were off. The whole apartment drowned in the darkness.
Her eyes caught the sight of a person who was in her bedroom. It was a tall man. He had a white sheet wrapped around his whole body. The sheet was even covering his face and his head. She could only see his feet. He walked slowly inside her bedroom. From one corner to another. Until he stepped on the wall and started walking on the wall as if it was the ground.
Now Anaya was literally shaking in fear. She knew well there was no way any men could try a stunt like that. He was walking towards her. She gritted her teeth in anger. "Get the hell out of my apartment." She yelled at him but he growled in return. She turned on the torch and threw it on him. The torch went through the man and collided with the wall. The torch broke into millions of pieces.
That was when she saw his hideous face. White eyes with pale and wrinkly. Long nails of every single finger. She backed away and her butt hit the dressing that was set behind her. He growled again and jumped on her. She ducked and luckily, she didn't get hurt. She quickly ran towards the door of the apartment. She stepped out of the apartment and collided with someone. She looked up and found the pizza boy. Her neighbors came out as well. They gave her water to calm her down. She tried to tell them what happened. But they all denied. Because they all went into the apartment and it was absolutely fine.
After a while, she calmed down. She paid for the pizza and went back into her apartment. She set the pizza box on her kitchen counter and went towards the bedroom. The torch was set on her bedside table, as if nothing happened to it. Then she went into the living room. The book she was reading was on the table along with her phone. Everything seems to be on its place. And the candles looked like they were never lit up before. She sighed as she felt like she was going crazy. Shaking her head, she went towards the kitchen and grabbed her pizza box. After onle last look all over her apartment, she went back to living room to enjoy her dinner. But she missed looking at the mirror of her dressing table. Which had the scratch marks of a claw on it.
