気球ー Balloons

The day was hazy. Cool breezes gently brushed my hair off my face, allowing me to see my companion gather a small bunch of

balloons

in their hand and float up towards the clouds. Curiously, I too wrapped the strings around my hand, watching as the balloons began to swiftly bring me up, nearly catching up to my friend. The sun shines in a way where it reflected gorgeously against the brightly colored balloons, the glare of it temporarily blinding me on the way up. My smile grew and I allowed a laugh to escape from me, my friend also laughing along as the balloons took us

higher

and

higher

. As we traveled further, the sky began to resemble that of the ocean, the clouds shifted into what seemed to be pure white

koi

. They swam gracefully through the sky, almost as if they were playing in a pond. I excitedly reached my hand out to touch them, feeling the coolness prick my skin was enough for me to leave it out longer. Turning my head towards the side, my companion seemed to be drifting farther and farther away from me. “Move closer! You’re too far away, you could get lost!”. I exclaimed, one of my hands desperately reaching out to reclaim the ground between the two of us; but as we drifted further, the clouds around us grew

darker

. They took on an eerily blackish-green color, and no longer resembled the beautiful Koi that had once been swimming gracefully through the sky. The sky itself, turned a terrifying

blood red

,

as I had begun to grow fearful. They were no longer in sight and the conditions only grew worse. Tornadoes formed around, roaring and whipping, as lightning struck at random, some nearly missing the bundle of balloons as well as myself. My knuckles grew white from the grip I had on the balloons, confusion being plastered on my face as I wondered what had gone so wrong. Where did they go? Loneliness struck as the world around me began to grow hazy; and then,

I woke up.
