Chapter 1: Memoirs
Drip
Drip
Drip
The drips from the leaky faucet remind me of the rainy days I would hide away at the park. Sudden bursts of rain were common, catching me off guard. In an attempt to not go home in soggy, baggy clothes I would run to the park, to find some covering. Though it would not always serve as a reliable shelter from the shower of the rain, little coverage was always better than none.
It would pour for an hour or at least what felt like an hour. After settling down, then the real race began. I would run home as fast as I could. The thought of my father figuring out that I had been caught in the storm was more than enough fuel.
My father would come home late. Giving me enough time to go explore the town. Though my father had never known of my little adventures, at least not for a good while.
I knew the risk of getting caught was great, but being cooped up at the house was not an option for me. Even though the town wasn’t very big, it was mostly surrounded by thick forest. There was plenty to see. The town’s park was an amazing place to hang out.
The park was one of the few places in this town that it seemed the sunlight no matter what would pierce the heavy gray clouds that loomed above. Then you have The Diamond’s Lounge, a music store, it was one of the spots of the town. It didn’t matter what time you went it always had a group of people in there, during store hours of course, but it wasn’t like there were many places you could go. Except for one, the most popular spot, Luna’s Cafe.
I’m still quite surprised how big it was for how small our town was, but it sure did help that it was almost packed all the time. Don’t even get me started on how good their omelets were and not to mention their freshly grounded coffee.
There was one more spot, though no one else knew about it or at least didn’t appreciate it as much as me. It was a bridge connecting the big city to our little town. The bridge was tall enough for a huge cargo ship to fit underneath with room to spare. Though it wasn’t used much due to our town not being a big producer of anything. But what made this place so special was during certain periods in the day the sunlight would fight through the clouds releasing beautiful rays of light on the water far below.
The deep blue waters glazed with the warm yellow light was a sight to see. The few boats, mostly kayaks and canoes, were merely specs compared to the vast ocean. During the night the stars would cover the entire ocean in sparkling nights with the moon to light the way
These were the highlights of my days.

The last paragraph really got me goosebumps. I felt that!
