Din Djarin might have looked like he was keeping it together, but he was far from ok. Not only was the Razor Crest blown to ash, but the kid was taken. He knew only one person who could help him. Migs Mayfield. Cara Dune was less than excited to help break him out, even for the child. Din had to make sure he was breathing on their way to pick up the criminal. To the outer eye, he was perfectly still. However, as he was sitting still, tears slowly fell. Migs tried to make conversation, but Din was having none of it. He sat in silence unless he absolutely had to speak. Migs mentioned that in order to get the codes, they would have to infiltrate an imperial base and get to a terminal.

They watched the approaching vehicle and realized that two needed to go. No one else could go because they would be recognized, so Din decided he would go. Migs offered against it, but it seemed nothing could stop him. He slightly wished he hadn’t gone, because he had to fight all of the pirates or rebels from blowing up their vehicle. They were the only ones to have made it back to the imperial base and were congratulated. Migs and Din shook other imperial’s hands as they made their way to a terminal. Migs looked at the officers in the room and walked back out. Din asked what was wrong, and he said there was an officer who might recognize him. After a bit more back and forth, Din took control and walked over to the terminal.

Migs watched as he saw the Mandalorian take off his helmet. He caught his breath, surprised that he would take it off. He wasn’t sure he was expecting, but Mando had brown hair. He wasn’t sure why the messy, slightly curly brown hair, made him almost attracted to Mando, but hey. You spend months wondering what someone looks like, and they end up being attractive, you can’t help but be attracted. When he saw Mando get caught up in being questioned by an officer, he had to step in, and got a better look at the Mandalorian. After he got a real good look at him, his jaw nearly dropped. He settled down from seeing Mando’s features once he brought up Project Cinder. He ended up jeopardizing the mission by shooting the officer they were talking to. Once the room was cleared for a moment, Migs couldn’t help it, and pulled Mando towards him and kissed him.

“Dammit Mando, warn a guy if you’re that attractive,” he jokingly scolded, handing him his helmet. “You did what you had to do. I never saw your face.” Mando looked at the helmet, then at Migs, and kissed him back before he put on the helmet.

“Thank you.” Migs squeezed his hand as they shot their way out.

Migs tapped his foot on the rocks as Mando changed back into his Mandalorian armor. “Migs.”

“I’m not looking. I just, well. I was going to apologize for uh…kissing you back there.” Mando said nothing. “At least, I would have, if you didn’t kiss me back.” Migs heard Mando’s movement stop. “Can I ask why? Just a spur of the moment? Or…?” he almost looked up, then stopped himself.

“I haven’t had any real physical contact since I was a child. I guess I was just so touch starved, that I jumped at the first chance I had.” Migs heard footsteps, then saw Mando’s feet next to his. He shut his eyes. “I should ask. Why did you kiss me?” Migs felt Mando lift his chin.

“I- well.” His eyes were still closed, but he felt Mando’s face grow closer. “I saw the real you. And I don’t mean the unmasked you.” His lips brushed against Mando’s, and his breath caught in his chest. “I might have seen the man under the armor, but I saw the heart in the warrior.” The Mandalorian closed the gap. Migs wrapped his arms around Mando’s neck, pulling him closer. As soon as Migs felt Mando allow access, he ran his hands through Mando’s hair, deepening the kiss. When he deepened the kiss, Mando shoved him against the wall, grinding their hips together. Migs moaned, tilting his head back. As he did, Mando took the chance and began to kiss and gently bite along his neck.

“Mando-” Migs gasped out. Migs thought of the brown hair and stubble that Mando had hidden from the world, and his heart started beating faster. Their lips crashed for a few more moments when they heard footsteps and sprang apart. Migs stood there, catching his breath, his eyes still closed.

“You can open your eyes now,” Mando stated, voice coming from his helmet now.

“Well. I’m not sure we can ever do that again. Although, there was something riveting about not being able to look at you.”

“I appreciate you not looking, even though you had already seen my face.” What Migs assumed was Cara Dune, was approaching somewhat quickly.

“I thought I told you I had never seen your face.”

“This was a spur of the moment. Right?” Migs thought for a moment.

“Yeah, mostly. I gotta say, you really should warn someone about how attractive you really are. Could easily turn someone on. Create the impulse of kissing you without a second thought.” Mando hummed.

“Well, maybe not warning you was the best course of action.” Migs could hear his smile. He grabbed his hands and kissed his knuckles.

“Well. This was a fun spur o’ the moment event, but if you ever have another one, maybe choose someone who won’t always be spur of the moment. I mean, I never would have thought I’d have kissed a man.”

“Being with a man isn’t as odd as you’d think.” Mando’s tone changed to be slightly defensive.

“Of course it isn’t, I’m just saying, for me personally.” They heard Cara Dune stop just outside, so Mando let Migs exit first, then followed suit. As Din and Cara gave the hints that Migs Mayfield was free, he felt himself falter a little. The only time he had ever touched another person in so long, that watching the first one, in a while, walk away, well. It didn’t help his current situation.
