What is your opinion?

A dystopia worth exploring

"The character introduction in the first chapter was good. I can easily tell the kind of relationship these two siblings have. The dystopian tone of the novel is clear in the third chapter. Third chapter haa an amazing world building, and it gives more insight into this world. There are a couple of things, I'd like to suggest in terms of writing. The tense slipped from present to past sometimes, and there were a few typos. Ex: In chapter three, "...her old pattern", instead of partner. Try to separate two character actions and dialogues. Apart from that, the story is strong and you got me hooked in three chapters only."

Hoping to see more soon

"Two chapters present at the time of this review. The story opening really draws you straight into the action. I was intrigued to find the opening lines didn’t immediately focus on the protagonist herself but instead drew the reader’s attention straight to the influence the brother character had on her. I liked the way the author also didn’t spend time info-dumping but instead skilfully wove in details such as the ‘loose floorboard’ and the fact her brother was her ‘only living relative’ into the starting action. Doing this set the seed nicely for later expansion and certainly hooked me. In terms of ambience, I can definitely say the story gave me an uneasy feeling right from the get-go. I can’t wait to see this creepy tone combined with the dystopian world mentioned in the synopsis. My only nitpick is a few minor issues with grammar, such as the unnecessary apostrophe in the title. That said, these are slight and barely take away from the story. All in all, I think Daughters of Eve has great potential. I’ll be keeping an eye out for future chapters."

Good for one chapter

"The beginning was great but with there only being one chapter there wasn't a lot to say about the book in a whole. Either way, you should read it you'll have fun."

Amazing start!

"The beginning is just so interesting and right away hooked me to the story. I want to know more about these people, the main character, the surrounding and ofcourse this new government that's about to invade. I like cult stories and the horror associated with their ways so it's definitely going to keep me engaged once you add more chapters. For now I can feel how this girl wants to leave this world which she calls as the hell on Earth and I just hope she comes out more as a warrior protagonist than the meek girl. I love it so far!!"

Daughters of Eve

"Great beginning. The plot of the story is very interesting. This is just the beginning of the story, and it starts with the main character feeling trapped and afraid. I'm curious to know what happens next. If she manages to leave, and how she deals with life on her own. Can't wait to see how it continues."

A fun, captivating ride down a promising dystopia

"The chapter doesn't waste time to jump into the action. As readers, we follow Agitha, who is trapped by the circumstances with her mentally unstable brother. The writer does a good job at creating a thrilling atmosphere, and what I particularly liked was the effort made to describe the surroundings (the colour of the wallpaper, the pointy edges of a floorboard),. The protagonist's mood is also clear through the inner assessment of the situation she makes. Although, I'd love to know more about the context of the story. What kind of place has the world actually become? What is outside the house? Is the protagonist trapped due to a lack of money, lack of her own will power, or, perhaps, something terrible is ongoing behind the closed doors of the madhouse? I'd love to learn more about the lore behind it all."

Great potentiel!

"As I'm writing this review, there are only three chapters, but I'm already hooked and interested in reading more! This is typically my kind of story! The first chapters are awesome, dystopian and a little creepy. I enjoyed them thoroughly. So far, the characters introduced are intriguing, there's a lot of mystery and backstory to be explored, and I'm excited for the author to take us on that trip. I did notice that a couple of times some words were repeated, for example the wooden floorboards, "wooden," was written perhaps three times in two sentences. I know that I like to re-read my chapters out loud before publishing, it helps me with my grammar and spotting any redundant words. I can't wait to read more!"

Rating So Far

"For the first 11 pages, there is not a lot that gives away the story other than the first chapter and your commandments, but I’m interested in seeing where it goes and how the main character develops. Keep going!"

Great!

"There's only three chapters so far, so I can't really speak on the plot much since I'm not sure how it's going to develop. I like the idea of the next generation dealing with the misgivings of the past ones (pretty relevant to what's going on in our world now lol unfortunately) I think the formatting needs some work. You should separate the bits of dialogue so that they are their own separate paragraph, doing so will help the reader keep track of who is talking and it'll break up the large walls of text that aren't super aesthetically pleasing. I also found that the chapters were pretty short, so I'd like longer chapters, maybe even combining these first three into one since they all have the same title There is still a bit of mystery at this point, which I like, so I can't really speak much more on the plot since I"m not sure how it's going to unfold/how these characters will interact with each other. All in all, I think it's a good idea and the writing is solid, just need to fix a few of those general errors. Good luck!"

So far, so good.

"P.S. to future readers reading this review: there’s only 2 chapters out at the time. *Spoiler free review* Do I recommend this story? I would on the grounds that the premise is interesting and the chapters I’ve read are well structured and pull you into a different world. The best part thus far is the setting and the dynamics between the 2 characters introduced. There not much plot since there are only 2 chapters out, but from the summary, it seems things will get interesting! *Spoiler review and some advices* Your style of writing is a familiar one which is always welcomed among readers. The grammar requires some work especially paragraphing. A lot of this can be fixed by using a new line every time someone different speaks. This breaks up your chapter and makes it visually more readable. A second convention you can use would be italics. Instead of using quotes “” for direct thoughts, use italics instead. Most readers know italics either mean a flashback or internal thoughts. The brother is an interesting character. I sense a family dynamic that has a lot of potential for growth. It poses questions like what happened to Agitha’s parents? How did Luke get into drinking? All things you can explore and can add depth to the character. You also do a great job of seeding in just enough exposition to make things make sense. And you do it through dialogue which makes it feels less like exposition and more like character interaction (which is where you want to be). Overall, the story shows potential but there isn’t much to review because there’s only 2 chapters out. I’ll update the review every 5 chapters or so or if major events or character moments happen (whichever comes first) If you need a site to have your work reviewed just to iron out all those grammar errors and paragraphing, send me a message on my wall and I’ll direct you to some sites I’ve used to proofread chapters before I upload here. Keep writing and keep well! The reaper sends his regards…"

Promising Concept. Interesting Execution

"This is a nice concept you came up with for your story. You propose a convincing setting for a post-apocalyptic world, including the nature of the characters you have depicted so far. The only thing I don't quite know how to feel about is in the blurb when you say that the protagonist's parents "produced" her. It made me wonder whether you wanted to say that they gave birth to her, or whether the use of the word "produce" (as though she were some sort of object) was done on purpose. If it's the latter, then that's already a very powerful statement as early as in the blurb, which is not something a reader sees very often. I give the plot 4 stars so far because you haven't really disclosed much (which is perfectly fine with me). Once I see how this story evolves, I can adjust the rating if needed. Keep up the great job!"
