Summary

The twenty-seventh century—also known as the Galactic Era—is a dark and crude epoch. In this cyberpunk and young-adult saga, Niralus Bisel, an admiral of United Earth Command, is assigned a top-secret mission to capture and send Liagon, a deadly alien, into a black hole known as Vacuity. The mission, however, turns upside down when Liagon escapes from his cell. Bisel must confront his nemesis and battle him to the death for the sake of defending humanity. When he fails, Liagon goes after his daughter for vengeance. Nesha is a carefree teenager who has high hopes of becoming the galaxy’s new champion in the sport of rifting. When her life is threatened, she has no choice but to join the survivors of her father’s crew and gather an alien alliance in an attempt to defeat Liagon before he destroys Earth and its solar system.

Prologue

The Mission of Volition

– Universal Network –

Dear Admiral Bisel,

I tried establishing vidlink with you several times, but it kept failing because of interferences caused by the black hole I created. Sending this transmission via email to your UND is the only way to reach you until the black hole stabilizes into Vacuity, which I’m estimating will be by tomorrow at 0600. More importantly, you were right.

I’ve tested the G-DNA sample you sent me, and it’s a match. Vreffith Larser is Liagon. I don’t understand how he survived the destruction of Delva’s moon. You have to do something before he retaliates. The UEC may label you as a rogue since there’s no evidence of the experiments, but I’m willing to help you.

I hope you receive this message. You have to arrest Liagon and bring him here to Aydis. And remember, he can’t be killed unless he’s put in Vacuity. The only thing that may work is the FG-400’s secondary pulse charge. It seems to be the only weapon that can stun him. Other than that, you’ll have to improvise and hope the detention cells can hold him. I hope all is well. Good luck, Niralus.

Cordially,

Dr. Thomas Larbel
