In a blue dim, metal room, The Colonel read Mila’s data. He paced back and forth, gaze fallen on his screen.

Mila sat, tied in a chair. Her thick, dark-brown hair covered her face.

Pressure. It replaced the air.

Colonel gave her a quick glare. ‘I’m asking you one last time.’ He faced her, head tilting.

‘Where is it?’

Under the light, his wrinkles lead to his pale eyes. Light blue complemented his gray hairs. Cheekbones stuck out, he was skinny.

‘You attended their little group a while. Those rebellious scums must have told you.’

Mila only met his stare. Dark eyes glimmered under the light.

Colonel watched through the bangs. ‘Do as you will.’ He scoffed. ‘Throw her in the Stake Room. She will speak then.’

Two guards grabbed Mila by her small, slim arms. Her fair skin dirtied in bruises and mud.

They dragged her through the halls of the ship. Neon Blue seemed to be their thing.

Mila sniffed. She could taste metal. The heating metal which awaited her.

They threw her in there. The four walled, small space. Empty space.

The blues turned red. The metal reeked.

Mila let out a gasp. Deep gasp for breathable air. Sweat dripped down her limbs.

She grabbed at her clothing: a cut, sheet pillow worn to veil her.

She covered her face, her mouth, her nose.

Her knees stung.

Her feet. They were about to melt off, she was sure.

A thump. No. A boom. It thundered the place.

The ground fell from under her feet. She was floating. Until she reached higher up.

The ceiling knocked her out.

}{

Blurry vision cleared.

Crackling sounds echoed.

Fire.

Back to her senses, ruins met her.

Mila crawled out from under the crashed remains. The ship really hit bottom, huh?

“I don’t remember to have called for -” She quickly searched for a clear path.

The ship crashed in the middle of forests. Forests bordered by red rock mountains.

The crash wiped the nearby trees and left a bald spot in said forest.

Mila reached the edge. The entrance in the woods. The silent, lonely, yet safer woods.

Just a few steps. Bare feet in the soil.

‘Stop right there!’ That rough voice yelled.

Mila turned around.

To meet The Colonel, veins visible on his figure. He grinned and showed his thin teeth.

Her cheek moved left, pushing her eye. She raised her eyebrow.

The man was practically bleeding.

“Crazy putó.” As someone dear to her would often declare others.

She shrugged.

Why would she stop? The few guns pointed at her didn’t stress.

‘I have had no need for you but listened to Kenkade anyways. You should’ve been grateful.’ He grabbed a screen out his pocket.

‘Do you know what happened to your little group after they left you behind?!’

‘Sir, I don’t think we should derange it’s emotional state,’ A soldier mumbled from behind.

Colonel ignored them.

Mila stood still, waiting for the answer.

With one press of a button, a huge hologram played above his head.

A group of teens, seemingly swallowed by the earth.

‘We used our artillery and buried them under the mountains…’

Mila stepped back.

’Your friends are dead !′

The sentence echoed around. Dreadful silence followed it.

The soldiers tensed. Some cursed their Colonel in their mind.

Mila’s eyes shot wide. Tears gathered at the corners. The first tear broke in the soil.

Now it was her turn to grind her teeth.

Vibrations traveled the ground.

‘Feck it, this child,’ Colonel sighed, knowing well enough what he started.

Said vibrations shook it, leaving the soldiers without balance.

Her trembling hand jerked open, joints tensed and tight. Then, the earth broke way.

Spikes.

A wave of them covered the glade.

The tallest speared the remaining of the ship. Hit the leaking engine.

The ship blew up.

}{

The explosion left behind a lane of spikes. A new forest patch.

Under the bits of junk, a white snake slipped out his head. The snake’s diamond eyes reflected a silhouette.

Mila sat. Her head forever bowed.

At a closer approach, he could see her shivers clearly. The snake tried to get closer. He stopped at her sudden movement.

Mila walked towards the forest.

The snake followed.

Black, pine wood grew deep purple leaves. The whole forest, a thick abomination.

Mila looked over her shoulder. Her chin risen, she showed a questioning look.

Meeting her stare, the snake deformed. He turned into a human. A boy, about the same height. He had short, spiky hair, his white bangs sitting on a side. The snake turned out to be a child with albinism.

‘I have powers, like you!’ He announced. ‘Name’s Liev. What’s yours?’ His voice carried an awful amount of energy.

Mila furthered away.

‘Ah, wait up!’ Liev followed. ‘You’re the one they brought in. M - something, no?’

A mischievous smirk painted him. ‘Guess how their toy fell from the sky?’

Mila pointed with her gaze.

‘Yup! Me!’ Liev spread his arms.

He put himself in her way. ‘You elemental mutants are crazy powerful! Especially you! Lucky you, you’re part of my gang now.’ His fists sat against his hips.

Mila shook her head, expression blank.

‘You can’t refuse, you’re already in. Hehe!’

Eyebrows drawn in, she continued walking.

‘Waiit uup!’

The two continued North. Where they headed: shelter.
