Prologue

At the time, I didn't really understand why meeting this guy was that much of a big deal but my father seemed to be happy about seeing his old friend. Of course being seventeen, I had always stuck to myself and just wanted to get a good education by emerging myself into my books. I never really seen my father hang out with anyone but then again I guess I got my antisocialism from him. When the car rolled up our drive, my father grinned and walked towards the man who had just gotten out of the car and hugged him but it was the other guy who caught my attention. He was slightly shorter then the guy who I presumed was my father's friend and looked almost like him.

"Liam, this is my daughter, Jesse." I looked back at the man and shook his hand with a small smile before letting it go. I really needed to study.

"....and this is my son, Jayden." I snapped out my thoughts and we both stared at each other before shaking hands and I quickly looked away before something caught my attention. A black box was sitting in our yard by the sidewalk. That was definitely strange. I never remembered it being there before and I didn't see anyone pass by. Without really thinking, I walked over to it and stared for a few minutes before picking it up. There was a ticking sound coming from it and my eyes widened before throwing it only for it to explode, knocking me back. The ringing in my ears was annoying and I couldn't hear anything but I could see my dad and the other two guys, what I wasn't expecting the gash I had and the amount of blood that was present until I passed out.
