CHAPTER ONE

THE PHONE-FIGHT

"Gimme back the phone!"

"I WON'T" yelled Solomon as he jumped around with the phone in his hand.

Emma groaned, the eleven-year-old girl grabbed him by his ankle and toppled over the couch and down onto the floor. She hurriedly grabbed the phone and ran off.

"OWWWWW!" screamed Solomon. "MOOOOOOOOOOOTHERRRRRRR! MOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMM!"

Mother came hurrying by. Sara looked alarmed at the sight of her son. She sighed. "EMMAAAAAAAAAAAA!" Emma appeared at the top of the stairs and looked scaredly at her mother.

"What?" she asked her, hiding the phone behind her back.

"Give him back the phone," Mother told her, calmly.

"It's NOT fair!" she yelled. "You always give HIM the phone!"

Mother ran up the stairs and Emma started running. The mother chased her around the house. Under a table, over a chair, into the guest bedroom, around it, and finally, the mother caught Emma, snatched the phone from her, and handed it to Solomon, who snickered snobbishly. Emma stuck out her tongue.

Solomon made a monkey face.

"Enough of that!" said Mother, before heading back to the kitchen.

But she didn't know what havoc was going to be caused.

YukkeTee: This isn’t just a romance. It’s the kind of slow-burn, messy kind of love that feels real—where two people carry scars and walls, and still choose each other anyway. The tension isn’t just between them; it’s in the quiet moments, the way they fumble through vulnerability, and the small, unspoken act...
