THE WAKEUP CALL

It was a beautiful Saturday morning with an alluring sunrise, but there wasn’t anyone to notice it. Well, it’s the weekend! What else could you expect?! The clock showed quarter-past ten, and our lazy IT-working pandas were still sleeping.

Anoopa Srinivasan, a.k.a Anoo, an independent woman by nature, was at the moment was in dependent on her boyfriend’s arms, dreaming about spending the weekend shopping with her officinaphobic boyfriend. Anurag Manoharan, a.k.a Anu, was having a nightmare. He was sharing Hyderabadi Mutton Biryani from his favourite restaurant, the Paradise Biryani, with Anoo in the dream while he shared nothing but his arms in real.

Everything was going as per their plan of waking up at 5:00 AM and going to Maula Ali Dargaha to watch the sunrise and get some good vibes. Except for the fact that they didn’t wake up to the alarm and overslept. One panda heard the phone ringing but was too lazy to pick it up, so he poked the one sleeping next to him. She was totally sucked up by the black hole, her bed, and couldn’t escape it. Now the panda has no other way than to pick up the phone by himself, and after a lot of struggle, he made it to his phone and yelled just by looking at the screen, “Go to hell, customer care!”

“Is this how you greet someone who gave you a wake-up call, Anu?” Anoo smirked as she slept.

Anu got tensed, not simply because of the lame pun, but how he had to get up for that stupid call which actually came to her mobile and got to hear that annoying joke. He dragged his arm quickly, which made her roll a bit. Anoo’s dream got messed up, and so did her jet-black hair. She turned her head slowly with anger towards Anu and saw him giggling.

Now that both were awake, suddenly, their plan of waking up early struck Anoo. She looked up at the clock, which was designed as the shield of Captain America, and got to know their plan was ruined like five hours ago.

“Anu, you have forgotten to set the alarm, once again. You ruined our first plan for the weekend. You are so careless, Anu,” Anoo complained.

“Don’t worry, dude! We’ll go tomorrow,” said Anu casually. “Sunday ain’t going to be a holiday for the Sun, right?! Now come, let’s just cuddle for some more time.”

“If we don’t make it tomorrow, I’ll definitely break up with you,” Anoo said.

“Okay then, come, let’s cuddle for one last time,” Anu grinned as he drew her in.
