He was standing on the cliff, looking in awe at the dawn of the first Sun, when a figure caught his eye on the land of the dark Faes.
She was sitting on a rock near the lake, playing with small birds that were chirping happily.
The girl was beyond beautiful.
He saw her dark, long locks and pearly skin shining; he could hear her singing, giggling, and talking to the leaves, flowers, birds, and fishes.
It fulfilled his lonesome existence.
Day after day, just admiring from afar...
He was the Dragon Lord, one of the rulers, so he couldn't interfere.
Creatures of the light couldn't mingle with the dark ones.
It was forbidden!!!
But, how could she be evil?!
She was so kind and joyful to every creature that she encountered.
Was that a decoy?!
After a few months, he decided to shift taking the form of an elf, hide nearby and look at her.
At dawn, he saw the sithen open and a hooded shadow swiftly moved through the trees to the lake.
He sensed that it was a dark fae, with strong powers but the aura wasn't black but fire-like, something he never had seen before!
Then, the shadow stopped near the lake. Took off the disguise and...it was her!!!
Being so close, yet unable to touch or speak. Puzzled he stood there, watching the beauty.
She was standing on the big rock near the lake, her favorite place, smiling at the sun. Her joy was pure and contagious.
He peaked from his cover to have a better view. She heard the movement and saw him.
His heart thumped like a drum seeing her approach.
Her amethyst eyes were looking deep into his silver ones, stripping him of his disguise.
She knew.
They start to spend time together, not knowing that the feelings they share will start a new era......
To be honest, as a reader and critic, I don’t like when question and exclamation marks are both at the end of a sentence. I personally think it should be one or the other. With that said, the beginning of the story is interesting, I like how the dragon gives into his temptation to see the girl.
