Chapter 1

Reeva pov

“Have you ever heard the siren’s song in the ticking time of a clock before? Or has the sound rippled across the north side of the realms before? Both are echoes of me or chance meetings. In this lifetime of creation, what will we create next? Another state of disorientation, a sweet sickening song, and a play? “The leviathan hums loudly while its head rests on the shoulders of another individual.

As Reeva hummed, he eventually created a tune that circled his entire dimension. The dimension itself was beautiful, the bright purple skies mixing with the glowing black stars and sea creatures dancing in the night sky while the endless pink sea of sound and music notes jammed on and on. Sound entered and left creating a melody that created life and destroyed it instantly like seafoam evaporating. “ Such a melody is comparable to Marca’s Shimmering finenight Metamorphosis or thousands of tales of slaughter and grace unbounded″ he remarked happily.

The star’s light illuminated Reeva, revealing his pitch black skin and markings of pink and blue sea creatures scattered all over him, along with scales that glowed in the light like the bright blue of the sea. Having his short black fin laying over his legs, his pale white horns that resemble coral resonated with the sound around him as they brushed against them. A silver note was ingrained into each of his black sweater, gloves, and jeans, which he wore. Taking a curious look at him, the cat-like male he was lying upon patted him on the head. “Mmm what are you talking about this time sweetheart?” he said curiously.

The moment he forgot about Astera to whom he was lying, he became embarrassed. ″I’m simply happy,″ Reeva said embarrassed as he strained to get off him “tell me you didn’t hear me,″ he shook his head in response while flashing a mischievous smile at Reeva sending shivers down his spine. “ Reeva looked to the water to see the reflection of astera staring at his back. Reeva was looking at his features, he had feline ears which were white mixed with blue and golden colors along with a tail and long hair while he wore a casual white shirt and shorts. Reeva began to look away from the water.

Would it be possible for us to take a nap for a little while? “I am a bit tired, and I don’t want to fall asleep in this dim room again with no one around. ” He said with a hint of sadness and fear, which Astera picked up on. Nodding, astera arms embraced him, a bright purple light surrounded them leaving behind a crater of debris floating around in the realm, causing everything to fall into a deep slumber.

There was a quiet yet peaceful atmosphere, which was accompanied by a melody of echoes of life of sorrow that made one tremble beneath the weight of the world’s weight. From the sleeping realm it extended to other regions of the galaxy to a planet surrounded by growing stars bearing down “upon it on its oily soil “the dread, the loss burning away the looming new castle to be built on this day, may it carry our message back to the unholy night” said the melody.

Tota pov

Towards dusk, the wind blew from the west, with flames covering the ashy sky and whispering to everything it touched. Throughout this natural storm, small organisms moved with short hind legs and their bodies, each composed of bone and a radiator attached to their bodies, along with slime gushing from tiny holes on their spines. The scorching soil allowed them to borrow and then resurface. Even though it was hot for them, they refused to stop.

Out of the six, only one did not follow. It gazed up at the burning sky where the flames danced. In comparison to the rest of its group, it was the only one to identify itself as something else, it had a half-broken skull along with a badly stitched white scarf made of rotten fur that traced along its spine. A rusty metal ribbon held a small makeshift bag of internal organs in place on its leg.

As it watched it had, and thought than a vivid daydream of something far and wide, it was of a big skinsuit walking yet not fully skin somehow its face was blurred with it showing its hand to it with hostility. All of a sudden, a high-pitched sound sounded around, making Tota turn to see where it was coming from, shifting his body in the soil, craning his neck to the side to improve his vision, they saw some old wreckage of some kind, with its antenna upwards and its radio playing. There was something magical about the sounds it made. Tota loved them. Despite not knowing what it was called, it could tell it sounded kind and unmerciful at the same time, and as it played, the storm gradually calmed down.

Tota looked around a bit more, seeing the surroundings were a bit clearer, making it easier to spot certain structures and silhouettes, and they discovered a large hole that covered miles of territory. Despite their curiosity, they could tell by the remains of charred substances around it that many had come here and died. Tota heard a low screech nearby causing him to look, only to see his family calling him to follow, so he sent out an echo telling them to follow him back home, prompting the bigger one to let out an annoyed growl before diving back into putrid soil.

With grace, they dived below, moving through the dirt toward the hole. It began to mumble under the skeletal jaw as they passed the threshold of sorts, wondering what that charred substance was. Tota could feel a similar, mild heat within himself, while in the soil it was weaker than the storms he and his family had to go through during their hunt. When he descended deeper it continued to rise, causing them to return to the surface where they saw a factory mechanical wreckage of solar panels, huge cables, and a white coffin.

The coffin began to glow, as it grew brighter the area got hotter. Part of him wanted to flee, but another thought he could handle it. For some reason, Tota felt its resolve burn brightly along with another feeling. The same feeling as when it heard the radio, but much clearer; a voice spoke clearly but changed dramatically to others. He looked around, but there were only a few robed people with an impaled organism with sharp teeth and an aquatic appearance covering the side of their robes.

It was difficult for Tota to look at them without feeling uneasy. Its boney figure trembled as it examined them to check out organisms like them, reminding them of their last encounter when its curiosity got the better of them, resulting in an irreparable injury to its skull. With this feeling, they tried diving immediately but were stopped by an unknown force. A burst of air shot Tota from out of the soil making them look around frantically, only then that he was in one of the hooded ones’ hands around their skeleton frame.

How did a lifeform from this planet get here? This isn’t possible, “the person said in a masculine tone while holding them while they held them more roughly. There is another hooded figure peering over their shoulder, flashing a mischievous smile under its hood, saying, “Oh who knows, but if this tiny thing can get past the barrier so easily without being incinerated, then it must be quite special. Look at their little clothing and bag for proof.

In response, Tota started to bash around more in their hands, as they could see more coming and feared the ones who cornered him. They winced in pain as the masculine hooded squeezed a bit more on his body, sending a shockwave across his body causing a headache. When the cheerful hooded one poked at him, the headache became ten times worse. They let out barks at them, which led to them laughing at Tota.

Suddenly, Tota was dropped, hitting the ground hard. The hooded ones were looking at another of the members that had arrived near them and had taken advantage of this opportunity to flee. While they were distracted and listening in, Tota slowly started to slip into the soil, releasing a huge amount of red slime that bubbled and covered everything on him, speeding up his descent.

” marca dala what are you two doing!” said an authority-stricken voice of an older woman, “ Madam alco we found a new species! we found them here in this area,” she said excitedly as they began to turn where tota was originally only to see nothing. The older hooded stared at the happy one with annoyance, rubbing their eyes in annoyance “ you gotta be kidding me even after the constant punishments you dare play around on this sacred land! Do you think it’s funny to lie on our lord’s lands, you tiny pebble of a girl? Madam alco yelled at the once cheerful girl whose cheerfulness was replaced with pure lust.

Dala sighed “ What marca say is true I was the first one to get in physical contact with, it but it seems me letting go of it allowed it to escape somehow even though the pressure I put on its body was strong enough to keep it down for a while.” The hooded man bowed his head the older one in shame “ punish me instead for her for my incompetence” madam alco looked at dala with furious intent and scoffed.“ Sure but know that it will be ten times worse than hers,” the older woman walked away and moved closer to the machine only stopping right in front of it.

Toto watched from within the charred corpses, peering in and out so he wouldn’t be seen. They angled their bodies to look down the huge hole to watch and listen to their conversation. He was becoming numb from the pain, and if they were further damaged, their body would not be able to repair itself. They glanced over and watched four new arrivals, one of them caught their attention since the cloak they were wearing was wrapped around their waist, which was entirely confusing to them. Were they not worried about not hiding their identity, and why would they need it? Tota pondered the question.

Their spines chilled as they saw the unhooded one look in their direction and wink, causing the other three nearby to scoff. All the hooded in a straight line then took their positions as they waited for the next command. It was the same poses Tota had seen on posters. Outworlders called them dancing. Madam Alco quickly threw off her cloak, revealing a mechanized body, and the rest followed suit.

Despite Tota’s efforts, he was unable to form any thoughts about them. Neither had seen anything like this before, as each looked outwardly beautiful and doll-like at the same time while being somewhat close to some predators it encountered. She pointed her silver-clothed hand at the newcomers.

“Vera, tox toiem, badina have all you completed the task for the ritual,“ they all nodded The madam smiled, “ now let us begin may our virtuous god come forth to this land and take it as a sacrifice, we thaliuem procpho shall call upon the leviathan that graces our realm in the glory.”

Tota became confused as he watched as he didn’t know what they were talking about, they knew not of a leviathan as they spoke of especially not in their homeland which made them think of the signal he heard before, but that thought stopped as he began to feel the heat once more the same one when he dove into the area they coveted.

Along with the heat came sounds that made him feel strange since there was no radio nearby or anything of the sort, but they could hear a beautiful voice calling them to join in. Tota looked at the hooded ones, trying to figure out what was going on, and saw them dancing in a circle, each different yet unique, could they understand? Was this human interest, tota wondered? Whenever Tota thought about that, the machine’s coffin began to glow more brightly as it opened, blinding him to the point they had to dive under.

Despite obvious soil beneath, Tota floats in oily substance only observing a pitch black ocean of oil with a single light at a distance. He recognized it as a telescope, but it was much larger and grander than those he had received from outworlders, its color platinum white yet its glass pure black and gold. Their hearts ached, but it didn’t call them individually, but instead called many at once. Whenever one spoke, the others spoke something else; it spoke names, places, and even origins which only lasted until an object appeared in front of Tota, causing a cacophony of screams that only stopped as its form changed.

The faces of mangled outworlders melted together, their bodies were entangled, and their hands wrapped around all their eyes. Crying pleading, she disappeared in a flash of an eye, leaving only something vicious, unexplainable in one word: ravenous. Tota was now on the surface, not below. It was as if their eyes automatically locked onto the thing, they didn’t see the many heads and body parts, but only glitching images along with the hooded people’s bodies attached to it and trying to escape, but failing.

Tota felt a strong fear from it, a sense of threat, yet not in the way they observed it, as it was gushing out like a child, trying to morph into an outworlder, but failing as it only had the skeletal frame of one, which was very thin and white. In the process, it moved crookedly and knocked itself to the ground, but continued to get up without caring that it would also melt away. Among the hooded, one who was partially alive and grafted to the creature, punched deep into the soil below with mechanical arms, activating something, but nothing came in response. The creature melted him faster, causing the hooded to scream out, but no noise was heard.

In response to this, their eyes looked at others only to see them open their mouths, but no sound was emitted either, making tota feel null. The closer it came, Tota felt empty as it got worse, they tried to escape but couldn’t for some reason, even though they wanted to, but the monster was right there in front of them on its knees, its bloody hands staining his skull with blue blood. In unison, it said, “My dear you have returned to the pathe, the way that leads to the sea of discovery, oh lost or not, we have reached the final goal found through life, may I and you be there for the bell tower tall.”

Its body began to melt away, its hands on its face beginning into crumbling yet fusing with tota leaving the stains of past victims on tota’s face into a marking of a bright blue baby seal upon a shore, but it did not leave the little one without anything as in its distribution only some scrap of it was left with its core intact. Its glow remained bright pink like a pearl in the ocean waiting to be grasped in the hands of man. Tota looked at it even as he felt great I’ll only for another storm in the area to start but unlike the last, there was no fire in the skies but sandy mist of ash, in the ash he saw his family and many other people he cared for only to pass out in a dream-like state.

Astera pov

“The man watched as an asteroid hit a planet from afar while drifting to debris among planets, while he did a single thought was on his mind one of the markings on Reeva’s back which began to glow as he put him to bed earlier. It was a dolphin swimming toward a baby seal on shore,“ what was it he said about it again? The ones who go together playfully as one and many consuming the school of fish on a trip to a deep sea.”

He shook his head with his tail puffed up feeling anxious “a companion huh to think the one who wishes to preserve his happiness would have such a friend “ he felt his back ache a bit feeling the fatigue from the area around him crumbling “ that dolphin is many to say that thing is companion is rude I have to say, but I can see why now that baby seal which waits for the dolphin is not a friend nor its helper, but its meal last meal nothing more, than a predator that only uses, but will it kill it to survive or just leave it be… I guess only time will tell”

He then jumped off the debris into the orbit of a nearby planet, planning to reach the planet dawning his mask of jewels with the look of a dragon upon it, armor appeared upon him matching the mask he was wearing. “ The messenger of song and retribution in which the world will face anarchy, blood, and survival will be its game. Will it be reasoned or faulty but if neither then it’s just another heart-stretched beast on the list may they know what they called, as even your identity isn’t safe? His presence vanished as he touched the surface, dawning a rifle and whip at his side as he walked forth to a destination.

There may come a day when we all vanish, but I’m no gambler, so I’d like to play a bit bargasta with you, oh mother of infinite youth” to which its response caused the entire planet to shake as it changed to face him and as she did so he flashed a smile at it. As the leviathan descended deeper into its slumber making the dream end and closing chapter for now.
