Wedding Reception
Jesse had been married for two weeks and she still couldn't believe how incredibly lucky she was to meet the man of her dreams in the basement of their brownstone home. Zach was the perfect yin to her yang. Tonight was the night of the big wedding reception, since they had eloped while in Las Vegas for his fight over New Year's Eve. As Jesse was looking around her cousin, Amber's, shop for a new dress to wear for tonight, Amber came over to her with a one of a kind strapless, white cocktail length dress. She had already gotten some new lingerie from her sister, Haley's, shop. "Hey, I hope you don't mind, I took the liberty of making a dress for you. I know you didn't ask, but I have made something for all the family weddings and wanted to include yours."
"Oh my God, Amber, it is gorgeous. Thank you!!"
Later that night Jesse was putting on her new clothes, as Zach was walking in the door from his workout. "Hey, Jess, where are you? Are you dressed yet?"
"I'm up in the bedroom. I will be ready as soon as you come up and zip up my dress. You have to behave though."
"You take all the fun out of it, Jess." He winked in the mirror as he came up behind his wife. He zipped up her new dress. And then turned her around in his arms so he could give her a kiss. "Let's get going to go get mom and then head to The Grill for our party."
"Yoo Hoo," Jessie and Zach's landladies and upstairs neighbors, Margie and Mabel, call down. "Don't forget about us."
Zach leaned over and whispered, "Man, I was hoping to get out before they heard us."
"Zach, they aren't bad, just a bit eccentric. They get along great with Aunt Wendy and my mom. The only one I feel bad for is Grandpa J, oh and Chip when he and Chase are home." Jessie scolded him.
"I know. I was only half serious, Jess."
"Sure, Superman, keep telling yourself that."
He just flashed her a smile at her response and said, "Superman?"
"Yea, you are my Superman. I wouldn't be surprised if I ended up finding Superman suits in the closet while doing laundry."
"Awwww thanks. And you, Jess, are my Uptown Girl. Unfortunately there are no Superman suits in my closet."
"Not yet there aren't. You never know if some may show up..."
The four of them got into Zach's SUV and headed to go pick up his mom before heading to the restaurant for the party.
When they got to the restaurant, Margie, Mabel, and Anna, Zach's mom, got out to alert the MC of the arrival of the bride and groom. Zach and Jessie waited to be announced before entering the main dining room. "May I have your attention please, I have just been informed that the bride and groom, My soon to be sister-in-law, Jessie, and her new husband, Zach, have arrived." There were cheers all around the room as the doors were opened for the couple to walk in to the main dining room. Some of the tables had been moved to make a dance floor. As they got to the dance floor, their song, Amazed by Lonestar, started playing. Zach took Jessie in his arms and led her in a beautiful waltz.
"Where do you learn to dance so well?" Jessie asked.
"Boxing is like dancing, have to keep moving your feet. Oh and my grandparents made me take dance lessons as a kid before they died." Zach responded to his wife.
After their dance, Jessie's dad came over for the father-daughter dance to the song, I Loved Her First by Heartland. "I am so blessed to see you so happy with Zach. I knew he was right for you even before you did."
"I know, Daddy. Thank you." Jessie smiled at her dad. "When did Chase get in? I thought he had a concert this weekend and wasn't going to be able to make it, at least that is what he told me when I invited him."
"He wouldn't miss this for the world. He wants to be a part of all the family's special occasions. He does have a concert tomorrow night in Los Angeles, so unfortunately for him and your sister, he has to fly out bright and early tomorrow morning."
Jessie turned and looked over at her sister and soon to be brother-in-law as she said, "Awww that sucks!"
After her father-daughter dance, the party really got started. Chase put on a playlist made for this occasion, so he wouldn't have to be stuck at the DJ booth and could enjoy his night with his fiancé. The playlist included songs such as Kryptonite and Uptown Girl, as well as some of Chase's songs Crazy Love and Saving Me.
Everyone had a great time eating their dinner and dancing the night away. Zach felt so blessed to finally be a part of a big family. He loved his mom very much, but he had always wanted a big family. That is exactly what he now had. He switched between dancing with his mom and dancing with Jessie.
Chase went up and paused the music before announcing it was time to cut the cake. After the cake came the toasts. Then Chase resumed the music for another hour, before people started heading out, not before all giving their congratulations to the new couple. Grandpa J came up to Zach and Jessie and held up a hotel room key for a room up at Whisper Lake for the next two nights. When Zach started saying he would need to take the other three home, Chip, Chase's driver, stepped in and said he had it taken care of. He would be driving them home and Chase would go home with Krista. Margie and Mabel were thrilled with this development. So with the other ladies taken care of, Zach thanked Grandpa J, took Jessie's hand in his, took the key from Grandpa J with his free hand and walked out the door to his SUV, after saying their goodbyes of course. The couple drove up to Whisper Lake and went up to their room.
"I can't believe The Colonel, what all the boys call Grandpa J, got us this room overlooking the water for two nights!" Zach exclaimed.
"It doesn't surprise me really, knowing Grandpa J. I didn't expect it no, but I would never have put it past him." Jessie replied smiling. Jessie headed out onto the balcony to look out at the lake. Zach came up behind her, pulled her against his chest, and held her there. Jessie melted into him, just like she always did when he held her close. "I love you, Superman."
"I love you too, Uptown Girl." He turned her head enough so he could give her a quick kiss. He continued to hold her close until she started shivering, after all it was January. He leaned down and whispered in her ear, "Come on let's go inside so I can warm you up the best way I know how." She looked up at him and nodded her head yes. The two went inside and once again Zach whispered in her ear, "That dress is gorgeous, but it is time for it to come off."
"Then take it off me, Zach. I think you will like what is underneath, meaning her new lingerie."
"I think I will like it much better when it is in the pile with your dress." After Zach stripped Jessie down, Jessie took her turn stripping Zach down and they fell onto the bed in each other's arms and made love all night long.
