“You idiot, are you waking me up for this!” I growl at my beta, Nick. “Alpha, listen to me. We found her.” Again, this gossip that leads to nothing, I think to myself as I get out of my bed. With a pounding head, I walk to my adjoining bathroom, where I throw water in my face to get the sleep out of my eyes. Nights and days, I’ve been walking around looking for the woman who is bombarding my dreams. Everyone knows the story of that one Luna who can give you eternal life. Not just any Luna, a Luna with powers, a Luna born as a witch. Every night I have that same dream, the dream of her with her beautiful wavy platinum, hair coming out from under her keep, that damn red cape that stays with me all day. Walking out of the bathroom with just my shorts on, I walk to the closet and pull out a pair of jeans with a black T-shirt.
Sighing, I step out of my bedroom, still in a bad mood from this dream that has kept me awake for months now. Why can’t I find her now? All these years of searching and now the dreams that keep coming with no clue where she can be. “Alpha, alpha!” Calls the girl with her black hair like a raven, my way. The girl I have known since I was three years old, is my sister Leonora. “Leonora, you know you can call me by my name,” I say with a grin already a little more cheerful than a minute ago. “Did you hear Nick this morning?” She asks me, jumping around me. For an 18-year-old girl, she’s still like a little puppy getting a piece of candy from our mother. Our mother, who has been dead for three years now, because of our father. Yes, our father killed our mother. According to him, it was an uncontrolled moment, which we as his children don’t believe anything about.
After I disowned my father, he died not much later. That’s what my soldiers told me, anyway. Nobody was ever found, but for now I am preoccupied with other things. “What is it this morning and your so-called enthusiasm anyway? How many times have I heard you say this.” I let out a sigh as I plopped down in my chair at the head of the table. “No, now we’re sure!” She shouts as she takes a seat next to me. I don’t understand their enthusiasm, towards my goal. Besides, she was the one who was against the idea years ago. You’d say as a sixteen-year-old, she already had a mind of her own. And back then she was sure no one should have eternal life. “We have an eyewitness who saw them walking,” says Nick, my beta, who takes a seat not far from me. “Then where?” I ask still, not sure if this isn’t another one of their pranks. They are not known for their tact or taking anything seriously in life. What puzzles me still is why I made Nick my beta in the first place. He has been a childhood friend of mine from our five years of age, and now I can still count on him. If anyone went through fire for me, it’s Nick. “On the border of the Red Moon pack.”
Sure, that bastard of a Feroni again. He’s been looking for this Luna for a year, just like me, though he hasn’t had much success so far either. And if he were successful, he’d come bragging to me about it anyway. I don’t like him, and he doesn’t like me, which always complicates our conversations. Say impossible even. “Does Feroni have her?” I ask, still not sure if this is not a gossip of theirs or a stunt by Feroni. “Bonnie, has seen her herself,” Leonora says as she stands up and gives Nick another kiss before walking out of the dining room. Probably looking for Bonnie, her best friend. “Your sister is me, but this time I think she’s really serious, Goderick,” Nick says with a smile on his face. Still with his hand on his cheek, where my sister, his mate, placed a kiss.
The two have always had a good relationship until suddenly Nick turned eighteen and claimed her as his mate after feeling the obvious bond with both of them. I must admit he did hurt me at first, though I know Nick is the best match for her. “I want to see Bonnie first, and then we’ll see.” Could I have known this was the stupidest thing I had done? Not much later, my sister walks in with this girl who has only recently become her close friend. Which suddenly gives me a glimpse of a month ago. Her red lips licked at my biceps and her beautiful long legs clamped around me as I moved inside her. Shit, she’s one of the girls who had launched herself onto my lap. And judging by her look at me, she clearly hasn’t forgotten me either. “Hello Goderick, nice to see you again,” she says with the same red lipstick she was wearing that night, which gives me even more memories. Of those lips on another friend of mine, now totally unaffected by her. “I am your Alpha, Bonnie. I therefore ask to be addressed with respect,” I say in my Alpha voice, already immediately annoyed, knowing this is another one of those fables going around.
“Now, don’t be so rude,” my sister says, annoyed at me. Though she does not know what this woman is capable of, is capable of. She is established further into the village for a reason. Not only is she a woman who throws herself at all men, she doesn’t know when to fuck off. Not even inclined to remember her or just give her the word. Then Leonora, but angry. It’s not that I mind her coming off with a woman as one of her friends. Not even if I have slept with them, where there is always the chance. And why couldn’t I do this forever? Of course, first find that Luna and my wish will come true. Why should I even look for a mate when I have plenty of women falling at my feet? Though I must say that sometimes it makes me feel empty, though I dare to let that go too. By sinking myself deep into one of those girls.
