Prologue

Sighing heavily I look at the rearview mirror and fix my straightened hair. I didn't like wearing my hair curly anymore.

Still looking in the mirror I look at the stud nose piercing and turn it slightly and sniff. I then roll the ball of my tongue piercing.

I reach for my purse and take out a few hundred dollar bills, cigarettes and a lollipop.

I open the door, get out, shut the door and lock it.

I feel a chill in the air but since coming back from Delaware. This is not cold compared to Delaware. However I still involuntary rub my arms. I look at my left arm and look at the new tattoo above my elbow.

I had it done in Delaware. It was a tattoo of my Father, Mother and Uncle Billy. I had it tattooed over my scar.

The tattoo was all three of them standing together. Mom in the middle then Dad and Uncle Billy standing on each side of her with their arms around her shoulder.

I shake my head and pull down the white tank top and rub my stomach touching the belly piercing I had there.

I looked to my left and saw a familiar black truck I haven't seen in three months since I wasn't in town for three months.

For those three months my ass was in Delaware. I was temporarily transfered to Delaware. I also had to make a turn in Baltimore.

Oh Lord Delaware was an experience but Baltimore, Maryland had opened a rotten can of worms and I gotta sort that shit out.

Tonight was my first night back. My friends knew I was coming back soon but they didn't know. I wanted to surprise them tonight seeing it was Roy's birthday.

I had to surprise him he was very supportive while I was away everyone was but he was the most.

I walked to the entrance of Timmy's. It was dark outside so the people inside couldn't see me properly.

I unwrapped the lollipop, put it in my mouth and get into acting mode. My other hand is on the handle. I sigh heavily and enter.

The bell goes off but everyone is cheerful, laughing talking loudly. Music is playing but loud enough that everyone can hear each other speak.

Many were still unaware of my presence. I looked to where my friends usually sit and there they are. Jonecia Leshawn, Roy and Tyrell.

I missed these guys we were still in contact. They knew of the piercings and tattoos. I smile to myself.

It's then Jonecia see's me and screams.

"Alicia!"

There's silence and everyone turns to look at me. There are different looks of confusion, happiness, humor and shock.

People start yelling my name and whistle. Some get up and start to surround me and give hugs and handshakes. I see my friends pushing people out the way to get to me.

Jonecia and Leshawn reach me first and Jonecia hugs my from the front and Leshawn the back.

I bite my lip of a recent memory of myself in with a woman in front and a man behind me. However there was more than hugging involved and I feel my face heat up at the memory.

I shake my head and smile. They both pull away and Leshawn comes stand in front of me next to Jonecia and looks me up and down.

"Now look I know you told me about the piercings and tattoo but EXCUSE ME! What's going here?"

I roll my eyes and suck my teeth at his extraness. I sent him photos.

Tyrell joins and gives me a hug. Next is the birthday boy and I smile widely at my friend of 20 years.

"Happy Birthday Bestfriend!"

I hug him tightly and he returns it. He whispers in my ear, "it's good to have you back."

"Thanks!"

We pull apart some other people greet me. I make sure not to look at the table where I'm very aware of certain person's presence.

I make my way to the bar to order a drink Jiggy and Tyson are sitting in their usual seats smiling at me.

"Hey y'all" I greet and they greet me back. Tyson even lifts his glass.

I order a beer nothing special. As I'm for my order. I turn my attention to Jiggy.

He looks me up and down. "What's with the piercing and tattoo?"

I get an evil thought and smirk.

"Piercings you mean." I reply.

He frowns, "huh."

"Yes piercings."

I show the nose piercing then lift my tank top up to show my belly piercing.

I then put the lollipop on my tongue piercing and make sure to lick the lollipop. I wink at him and pull it out of my mouth with a kiss. I lick my lips and raise my brow to see if they catch my suggestiveness.

From the look of shock on both of their faces they did.

All of the sudden the hairs on the back of my neck rise and I get goosebumps on my skin.

Involuntary I look behind Tyson and see how the blonde haired and blue eyed detective was looking at me as if looks could kill.

Silver's Second Chance

Maggie Varnum: Like that it was fast paced and suspenseful...loved the romance up ended a little to fast ...would have been better if there was a Luna ceremony chapter and a birth of son with name chapter with Cole as a dramatic dad in the delivery scene .... Overall I enjoyed it very much!

bushbaby: I love the slightly different spin on the were-world and I love love love reading Jaspers story splashed in-between. I honestly did not love Dev, he had no character growth and no arc I just didnt like who he is as a person and that made it hard to keep going about half way through. Without Jaspers ...

PARIS IN THE DARK

Hester: Very good, was short too the point , not lingering on the abuse, pity you didn’t let him step in earlier knowing the abuse was happening, but this is almost real for some women who have gone through it, just wish they could all have a princess at te end of thete tunnel

Angela Mullen-Akporiaye: I like the banter between Aldrich and Lucy. She’s sassy and kind. He’s vulnerable and strong. There’s a verisimilitude in the way that they relate. And when he came looking for her, she didn’t shrink. Bravo!
