Prologue

A kingdom in ruin, a vile king yearning for immortality, the portals of the Hells summoned and the gates opened, a woman covered in blood from people she once called her friends. She was fighting against what she once called home. This was once the setting of the greatest battle in the seventh of the Thirteen Realms, known as Encanthia, some thousand years ago. The effects of this battle are still felt in the present day. The war was the reason why there is a fifth season, and subsequently, another month to be added to the Thirteen Realms’ calendar. Many people didn’t survive this battle. Those that did, wish they hadn’t, for they were cursed to wander the realms aimlessly until they were finally put to rest. Some of those have started services for the living to give them purpose, while others do it just to get something from the living. Whether it be a sense of redemption or a sense of enjoyment as they boss others around for once, the need stays the same. However, the most significant result of the more nefarious meddling of Contractors lies within a small and crude town known as Grayward. A town that people would be better off forgetting.
