What is your opinion?

Simple but sweet

"I loved this. It's simple, to the point, and eerie because I don't know why. If there was one thing I would change is maybe make the dialogue and certain vocabulary more serious because of the nature of the story. Ex. jibber-jabber. It made me feel like this was supposed to be semi-serious? I think more emotive dialogue to the horror would be more effective. Anyway, thanks for the good read! :)"

Gripping!

"This author had me hooked from line 1, so he definitely has a way with words. The title is also very clever and draws you right in so the whole story is unified. This is a chilling, interesting read by a talented author. I highly recommend it."

A Great Piece of Flash!

"I've read quite a few of Lee's flash pieces lately, and I have to say I've not only been impressed by the structure of the pieces, but by the diversity of topics. He has a natural talent for bringing different styles, and different voices, to life. "The Kids of Rock Hill" is no exception. This is a great example of flash fiction that tells a voluminous story within a minimal number of words that carry quite an emotional wallop!"

Must read.

"There's something about horror involving children that ratchets up the creep factor by at least a thousand, and this is no exception. It's subtle and sparing, but there's a sledgehammer ending behind the understated approach. Thoroughly, gloriously unsettling."

Just enough to make me shudder

"I love the story here. It makes me think of the phrase "The kid's aren't right" but holds your attention until you find out why. You are left with a story that moves quickly, not spending time on needless description, but still has an impact at the end. (Sorry about the pun) All in all, the image it leaves me with is one of dread. One where should I be put in that situation I would be struck with uncertainty as to how to proceed. But by then it might be just too late."

I need more...a lot more

"This was written, in my opinion, like a trailer to a dope horror/thriller movie. Children have been used in many novels, stories and films to create an eerie tone. It works well most times because there's at times a cognitive gap and almost always an emotional gap between all people in the different stages of life. Children perceive things differently than teenagers and young adults and so on. I want more, man. I have no problem with your writing style at all. I would have loved some description of Brad. Perhaps the look on his face. Maybe it's one of unimaginable terror. I like this tale. It makes me think of Village of the Damned of Children of the Corn or something where impressionable children have taken over and people of a certain age group are being killed."
