Chapter 1
Alicia sat in her room and looked up at her parents. "I don't want to go." She complained to them. Alicia had started becoming depressed.
When her parents found out about this, they sent her to a therapist. Her parents and her therapist had decided it would be safer for her if she went to an asylum.
"Sweetie, you have to. Now come on. The ambulance is waiting for you." Her mother, Ann, handed Alicia her suitcase and they walked downstairs.
Peter, who was Alicia's father stood at the front door with Dr. Longway. Alicia just stood there, staring at the man stand beside her. Of course, the others couldn't see what she was looking at.
"Come on, Alicia. It's time to go," Dr. Longway said, snapping Alicia out of her trance.
Alicia looked up and shook her head. "I can't. I'm scared," she said. Silent tears streamed down her face.
"It's okay. They're just going to help you get better. You'll be back with your parents before you know it. It's just for a little while," Dr. Longway promised.
Alicia ducked into the ambulance and laid her suitcase on her lap. She looked out the back door of the ambulance and watched her parents disappear as the ambulance left the driveway.
As the ambulance left the doctor's offices' driveway, she hugged her knees to her chest and leaned her head against them.
The ride seemed to be endless. She was exhausted when they finally reached the hospital.
"We're here," One of the paramedics stated. He opened the doors of the ambulance and helped Alicia climb out.
When they walked in, Alicia had her suitcase checked for "sharps" and was brought to a room. She was told that she had a roommate but that her roommate was in therapy right now.
She set her suitcase down on her bed and left the room. She looked down both halls and headed towards the front door where a guard stood.
She walked that way and tried to leave this place but the guard blocked her. "Where are you goin,"" He demanded in a booming voice.
"Nowhere," Alicia lied, smoothly. She tried to walk around the guard but he blocked her.
"I don't think so. Turn around and go back to your room," the guard stood his ground.
"I want to go outside," Alicia said. She stepped towards the guard and hit her. She couldn't do any damage because she was so small but she did make the guard angry.
"Look kid. I know you want to go outside but that's against the rules. You have to go back to your room," the orderly said.
Alicia shook her head. "I'm going outside," She tried to step around the guard.
The guard grabbed her. "You're not going anywhere," The guard said. Alicia tried to hit him.
"I need a nurse over here,," he shouted.
A nurse stepped over to them. "What's going on Lou," The nurse demanded.
"She's trying to escape and she keeps hitting me," he told the nurse.
"Hmm.." The nurse said. She pulled something out of her pocket and stabbed it into Alicia's arm. It was meant to calm Alicia down, "We'll see how she does in an hour or two."
The nurse brought Alicia back to her room. Alicia sat on her bed and looked down at her scars. She shouldn't be here. Not after just one attempt but her parents had sent her and she had no choice. She was a minor.

Alicia sat in her room ands sighed. She was tired after the incident yesterday. However, she had to get to her therapists office for her first session in fifteen minutes.
She got up and left her room. Looking around she noticed the other patients seemed more dangerous than she was. She sighed and walked down the hall to the cafeteria.
Alicia sat at a table with a skinny girl and a boy around her age. She smile warmly at them despite the fact that they frightened her.
After a hurried breakfast, she headed right for her therapists office. Earlier that morning one of the nurses had told Alicia that her doctor was Dr. Heart.
She hoped he was nice and caring. If he wasn't, then she wouldn't say anything at all during the session. Also, she would probably wind up leaving the session way too early.
As she walked down the hall, Alicia looked everywhere. Everywhere except for paying attention to where she was walking. She ran into someone and mumbled an apology.
Then, she continued on her way. Dr. Heart's office wasn't that hard to find. It was however creepy. Alicia stood in the doorway for an eternity until she finally made up her mind to enter the office.
"Hello, Alicia, have a seat." Dr. Heart said. He looked up from his paperwork to give her a gentle smile. He indicated towards a chair a little ways from his desk. There was also a couch in the room and a bunch of boxes of tissues.
Alicia shook her head and silently walked towards the couch. She sat down without looking at Dr. Heart. Instead, she glanced down at her hands and frowned.
"Your nurse said you had a nightmare last night." Dr. Heart said. "Would you like to talk about it?"
"No." She said in a barely audible whisper.
"If you don't talk about it, then I'll have to keep you here longer until we can figure out why you are having nightmares." He explained.
Alicia shrugged. She could honestly care less. All she wanted right now was to get out of this office so she could go to her room and harm herself.
"Alicia? What are you thinking?" Dr. Heart interrupted her thoughts.
"Nothing." She lied.
"Alicia, please don't lie to me. I'm here to help you." He said.
"I'm not thinking anything!" Alicia yelled at him. She was already tired of Dr. Hate. She got up from her chair and left his office.
When she got to her room, she felt worse
She left her room and searched for a nurse. When she couldn't find one, she started panicking. Her breathing became shallow and she started to hyperventilate. She sat down on the hall floor and rocked back and forth. Back and forth. It felt like the panic attack would never end.
