In ancient times, in a land divine,
The Ramayana tells a story of a time.
Of a prince named Rama, with heart pure,
And his love for his wife, he would endure.
The tale begins with King Dasharatha’s plight,
He had no heir to continue his line’s might.
And so he prayed to the gods above,
For a son to fill his heart with love.
The gods heard his prayers and sent,
Rama, a prince, who was heaven-sent.
His birth was celebrated with much fanfare,
And Dasharatha was filled with care.
But Rama’s life was not without strife,
For jealousy and greed was rife.
His stepmother Kaikeyi was consumed,
By her desire to see her son groomed.
She asked the king to banish Rama,
And make her son the crown prince to drama.
The king had no choice but to comply,
And Rama was exiled with a heavy sigh.
With his wife Sita and brother Lakshmana by his side,
Rama ventured into the forest, to abide.
He fought many battles and faced many foes,
And his journey was filled with highs and lows.
One day, Ravana, the demon king,
Kidnapped Sita, and his evil was a thing.
Rama vowed to rescue his beloved wife,
And began a journey that would change his life.
With the help of Hanuman, the monkey king,
And his army of apes, Rama began to sing.
Of his love for Sita and his determination,
To bring her back from Ravana’s domination.
And so began the war of epic scale,
With armies clashing, and demons wail.
Rama fought with all his might,
And his enemies fell with all their blight.
With the help of his allies and Vibhishana’s aid,
The demon king was defeated, and his army was swayed.
Rama’s victory was a joyous occasion,
And his return to Ayodhya was met with elation.
The people celebrated his triumph and love,
And his rule was blessed by the gods above.
But Rama’s journey was not without strife,
For his love for Sita brought criticism and life.
The people questioned her purity and truth,
And Rama was forced to give her the fire’s booth.
But Agni appeared and proved her love was pure,
And Rama accepted her back with an open heart and allure.
