Ein Jahr lang hat er sie beobachtet, und nun steht Mayra vor einer Entscheidung von ungeahnter Tragweite: Wird sie ihm in die Unterwelt folgen und ihre Freunde zurücklassen oder wird sie ihn zurückweisen? Anfangs, als die Gestaltwandler, Hexen und Vampire sich vor gut drei Jahrzehnten zeigten, herrschte Entsetzen und Angst in der Welt. Doch die Menschen arrangierten sich schnell mit den Neuheiten, was blieb den Menschen auch schon übrig? Sie schlossen Friedensverträge, irgendwie haben es alle geschafft so zusammen zu leben, als wäre es schon immer so gewesen.
