Over

I have a problem, one I need to solve, quickly. This problem only exists when you’re around, it’s a noise, the sound of your breathing.

I loved you, adored the bones of you, but your inertia drained that away.

The only thing you gaze at lovingly is the laptop, its keys the only thing you stroke.

I’ve given up trying to get your attention, maybe if I was a program you could download you might give me some of your time.

What if I could ride a unicycle?

like the bear with the bleeding umbrella, who mockingly sits with more grace than I could muster on such a vehicle

I meant to pen a goodbye note ergo the pen and blank page

but couldn’t think of anything to write, re. us it couldn’t be more apt as now all I feel is nothing.

We have disappeared into nothingness

Will you even notice I have gone?

Oh lord, how has it come to this? When does a marriage end? Is it as soon as you stop respecting each other? I think in happens slowly, in small amounts of contempt that turn the adoration you had into disgust. I can’t stand the sight of him. His breathing annoys me in, out, snort, that bloody snort, makes me want to smash his face in. I had the iron in my hand one day and it would have been so easy. I stopped myself just in time, not there yet.
