Prolouge / Introduction

As the first snowflake settled, it whispered secrets of a winter tale waiting to unfold. the mystery itself didn't start intriguing However, what started as a small change in my life ended up ruining it completely.
Lately, everyone around me has been acting differently. It seems like they don't want to talk about anything when something's wrong. I'm usually the first to know about it, and everyone trusts me, even though I'm the youngest. That's because I'm good at keeping secrets and staying loyal to promises. But now, for some reason, everyone seems to know something that I wasn't told. I can feel it. The once lively house filled with laughter is now shrouded in eerie silence and a grim aura. Everything is the opposite of what it should be.
My name is Ellie Carter, and I'm only 12 years old. I'm here to narrate this mystery, which may not be mysterious to you, but it's incredibly important to me.
"Is there something I should know?"
"Is something wrong?"
"What are you not telling me?!"
"What's wrong?"
I don't know how many times I've asked these questions, but they all receive the same response: a slight lifeless nod, not saying yes or no, some ending with a weak smile or a fake chuckle. My family's grim attitude was becoming very bothersome.
I was determined to get to the bottom of the mystery. I asked my parents and siblings again if there was something I should know if something was wrong, and what they were not telling me, but they all remained tight-lipped. I felt frustrated and helpless, but I refused to give up. I knew that I had to keep digging until I found out what was going on. I interrogated for the third time pleading to my family to tell me what was going on and my sister almost slipped about to tell me but my parents silenced her by changing the topic this only worried me more I thought that I might continue this tomorrow...
