Do we read anything but the imagination or do we commit murders to know if the work is valid or true? What is writing but the true essence of human nature both the good and the bad and if we do not want the good well here is the writing here is the world here we are."

Great story!
"I enjoyed this a lot! The plot was unique and intriguing. It's hard to come up with an idea that is different from the millions of others clogging the world of literature, but I think this is definitely an idea that has set itself apart. I was hooked from the beginning. The writing style was professional and clean, and I felt immediately connected to the characters from chapter one. The bad project
"I found the story of Marianne and Crystal rather captivating. It kept me turning the pages wondering how 'bad' the project was going to be. I guess one can't plan human feelings and this story tries to tell us just that. This is excellent reading."
Novel Idea
"This was an interesting read from start to finish. As someone who always avoided being bad, it's fun to see the other side of it! I really liked the characters and the relationship between Marianne and Crystal...it felt very authentic. I appreciated the subtle references to race and ethnicity. A lot of time that can get overlooked and in this day in age it's an important subcategory to explore when writing. The flow of the story was a little choppy in some places and there were a few grammatical errors, but otherwise it was a great read. It would be a good one for anyone going off to college! The Bad Project
"I love stories set in college: they are nostalgic. Crystal was very amiable, just the sort of friend everyone needs. I didn't see why Maryanne needed to Become Bad to learn stuff but I guess that gives us the character development. Maryanne becomes a baby seeing the world fresh new eyes and I was really interested to see what she'd get herself into next. I loved your writing voice because it's not that different from mine. I won't mention grammar and punctuation because it really doesn't cast a shadow over your work. I'm sure you'll go back and check the few mishaps, like for instance when Crystal gets Maryanne through the bio problem. I totally enjoyed every minute of this story."
The bad project
". When Cristal decides to go along with her roommate's bad project, she immediately regrets it, from Marianne's first cigarette to her drunken debacle. But when Marianne puts sex on her bad list, and asks Crystals opinion things go from bad to worse. The bad project from start to finish is definitely food for thought. I found the story so thought provoking that I actually read some parts twice! I rated grammar etc. a four star because of spelling / word displacement. Example: The walked off toward Carson Café.... one was saying when she sat [then you have the word down by itself on the next paragraph.[Ch. 26] and ,, Bronnie was my best friends little small brother back there. [Ch. 39] All in all this is a book I definitely would read again!"
Nice story
"I found a lot to like about this story. I grew up in So Cal, I lived in the Bay area and I currently live in China. Many of the characterizations were spot on, The dialogue was crisp and each speaker had a different voice. I could connect with the story well, even though it is not my normal genre. Keep up the good work."
Bad Project
"A page turner for me. I enjoyed the story and the friendship between Marianne and Crystal. Once I finished a chapter I couldn't wait to find out what happened next. Some grammatical errors but since I was engrossed in reading the story it didn't stop me from continuing to the end. Good plot!"
The Bad Project
"When two girls conspire to try the 'Bad Project', - one of them an unwilling advisor - they're not careful what they wish for. Without wanting to disclose much to readers, things take a different and tragic turn towards the tail end of the book. Further from what Marianne would've wanted to learn,to grow up. Readers would want to keep on reading to find out what lessons Crystal and Marianne learn with the Bad Project escapades, and also hope that it doesn't affect Crystal's chance of getting the much needed scholarship to ease her Dad's struggle with college fees, after what happened years back in a fit of anger,which has left him struggling financially in raising up his adorable family. The book also exposes and tries to address the race issue, which is an explosive issue in the US, but again, ironically, these issues are subconsciously brought up by the author. Apart from Crystal, black characters, just like in Hollywood movies, feel like supporting characters, and in some instances are portrayed negatively. Sample these, ''..a tall heavyset black girl'' Crystal's mentee. ''..she stood behind a black man with Red Wing boots smeared with ochre mud. He smelled like old sweat.'' Crystal's friend Charles is a drug dealer, just to name a few. I also have to agree with one reviewer Keith on character and plot development. Characters aren't well developed. Also, there're typos which I believe can be ironed out with good editing. I would've wished that the book picture model would've been a Crystal, who's the main protagonist. The picture is neither a Crystal (African-American ) or a Marianne ( Chinese ). All in all, The Bad Project is a book I would recommend people to read."
Interesting and Thought Provoking
"This was a very interesting story, and I highly recommend for college girls to read it. I'm not in college yet, but I'm going to be next year, so this was still highly enjoyable for me. I loved it how thought provoking The Bad Project was and how Maryanne wanted to become bad to break out of what everyone thought about her. Crystal was a very supportive friend in all of this, because I don't know if I would've been able to help Marryanne like she did. There were some errors here and there, and I still feel the story could dive a little deeper, but other than that, I found it enjoyable. **NOTES FOR THE AUTHOR IN THE COMMENTS BELOW."

The Bad Project
"The Bad Project is about a Chinese girl, Marianne, who had always been expected to be good. Then she went to college, and decided the time to be the good girl was over. She devises "the Bad Project" to experiment with what it would be like to be bad. She recruits her new roommate, Crystal,, to be her "project adviser:" Crystal is less than enthusiastic, but becomes a friend who feels compelled to be supportive. The idea of the book appealed to me because as a teen I was expected to be "the good boy", and it took me a while to find who I really wanted to be. I also related it to the TV show "The Gilmore Girls" (which my family is currently watching on Netflix), where the young Asian teen, Lane (in this case, Korean) also seeks to rebel against being good. I think many young women will identify with the idea behind this book, and might want to read it for that reason. I do not, however, feel the author did a particularly good job of pulling the story off. Character and plot development are both very slow, her descriptive ability is mediocre, and her characters are often shallowly drawn. In addition, I believe the author often violates one of the most often quoted rules of writing fiction - "show; don't tell." Much of the book is taken up in conversation about action, instead of action or gripping interaction between characters. The dialogue often feels artificial. In addition, the manuscript shows need of editing -- often repeated words, misplaced commas, omitted words, etc. (there are also a number of formatting errors, but I partly understand that,having taken about 6 hours to fix formatting errors derived from downloading my own manuscript to the site.) The writing did seem to improve around Chapter 24. I appreciated her wrestling with difficult issues like post-traumatic reaction to rape, and pondering abortion. She also appropriately shows that a young girl's first sexual experience can be much less than often-romanticized portrayals. I appreciated her efforts to bring in the relevance of religious faith to talking about the moral struggles of college students. One caveat to this review should be admitted: this book is written for college girls, and I am an older male. So, if anyone would like to take the review "with a grain of salt" therein lies the opportunity."
