EPISODE 1
MY BEGINNING
As you have probably guessed I have a twin sister. It might sound cliché but we are total opposites .My name is Creation Crystal because for one thing my eyes look like crystals and my twin sister’s name is Destruction Ruby for basically the same reason.
This is a secret but we actually have supernatural abilities that is the reason why we live in the forest completely separated from the outside world. Surrounded by trees and nature our little home stood in the center of it all .It USED TO BE peaceful there. That’s right things changed a LOT.
Anyway I have the power of creation while Ruby has the power of destruction .Despite her powers she was a saint. She always wore bright and gentle smile and was well spoken. She was kind, loving and hardworking. Simply put she was the embodiment of perfection .it was like having two moms in one home. Her silky black hair resting on her shoulders and her ruby-like eyes glowing brightly as if to shame anything that has the same name.
We lived with our parents, they would sometimes go to the market in the village. I was left with Ruby who was born several minutes earlier than me so she was my older sister. When our parents went into the village we would harness our powers. I can make pretty much anything as long as there is a mass of air. Ruby can destroy anything she wants to by just a glance, including my creations. I can reverse anything that my sister has destroyed but nothing else. It’s like our powers deflect each other. Another perk is that I can heal even the most fatal wound imaginable, it’s like restoring or creating that wounded part.
WAIT A MINUTE! I didn’t tell you about ME. Well in short I was a devil child. Always plotting something to ruin my family’s day, I was always downright filthy, loud, and I think I was obnoxious and somewhat lazy too. My white hair was always messy and filled with dirt. My crystal-like eyes filled with malice. If my sister was perfection then I was disaster. Yes we were opposites but we got along. Looking back I think my childhood was the best time of my life. A time when things were alright until that day ofcourse
I was maybe 11 years old at the time, it was in August but I don’t remember the date. Ruby was shaking me awake
“Wake up now Crystal it’s time for breakfast” Ruby said. I sat upright as I rubbed my hand on my eye. After my eyes had adjusted I looked at Ruby, smiling as usual she was sitting at the side of my bed
“Morning” I said jumping out of bed and without replying she exited the room.
Our room wasn’t that big, just two beds, a creaky wooden floor and two different sections of the room. We shared a drawer where we put our clothes, combs and stuff. Ruby loved to read books so at her side of the room where book shelves, a studying table, well-organized paperwork and so much more grown up stuff. At my side it was a mess. Clothes thrown everywhere, twigs, herbs and other nature stuff.
I looked outside the window. The sun had already began to rise, the trees were being touched by the sunlight but the crops were still consumed in darkness. By crops I mean the cabbage that we grew. It stretched as far as the eye could see. The sky was certain shade of grey. The chickens we kept roamed around even at this hour. It was a perfect farm I decided as I put on my blue dress and went into the kitchen. Our kitchen was simple a wooden table in the middle and shelves with spices, utensils, plates and some of cabbage. At the table I saw some freshly baked bread as I walked to the door leading to the outside. Mom and Ruby were outside cooking food at the fire. Just when I was about to go disturb them, my Dad came up from behind me and lifted me up onto his shoulders
“Dad!” I said surprised and he just chuckled
“Crystal let’s go for a walk, Mom and Ruby are well…busy” he said turning to leave through the back door with me on his shoulders
“Okay” I replied a bit skeptical
We went into the forest. The large trees cast a shade blocking the sunlight. Green grass covered the bare soil as tiny creatures crawled around. We walked for a few minutes before Dad finally set me down. We had arrived at a clear spot, no trees covered this spot so it shone brightly like a light hidden in the dark. There was a log on the spot, a sitting area I guessed. Birds sang melodies and it felt nice to just sit there with my Dad beside me
“Nice isn’t it?” my father said
“Sure is” I agreed
He continued “I want you to come here when you feel sad or lonely, you can just come and sit” he said with a faint smile
“Well, we will come together all of us next time, Dad” I said and he gave me a sad smile
I jumped on his lap and he rubbed my back
“I want to tell you a story Crystal. I’ve never told you this before but we live in Starfire Kingdom, currently ruled by King Marcus and Queen Uvon…they had two daughters, twins to be more accurate. Those twins had gifts, powers. The King and Queen feared for their children’s well-being because their enemies were after them so they entrusted them to their closest retainers to take care of them” he said his voice serious
“Where are those twins, Dad?” I asked
He looked at me “Right here, PRINCESS Crystal” he smiled
I burst into laughter thinking it was a joke. How was I a princess? It was utter nonsense
“Crystal as your father, I love you and I will never let you suffer or die while I watch. You are precious. Remember that, Ruby is your twin sister take care of each other. Also share with your sister all the things that I have told you” he said
“You sound like you’re saying goodbye” I said jokingly and giggled. At the time I didn’t believe anything bad would happen to me or my family. How wrong I was…
His face turned sad for a moment then he said “Today Mom and I are going the market in the village, see us off okay?”
“Oh….okay” I said wondering why he sounded so serious that day. My Dad was a clown, seeing him being this serious told me something was wrong
