Prologue: Kaelin
The year is 2355. The world has changed. Everything has changed.
It began in 2025, the year of mankind’s greatest mistake. World War III erupted, a storm of missiles and nuclear fire tearing through nations like brittle parchment. The earth itself rebelled against the chaos. Tectonic plates convulsed, volcanoes screamed molten fury, and tsunamis swallowed coastlines whole. Continents shifted. Cities crumbled. The world as humanity once knew it ceased to exist.
Europe—if it could still be called that—was no longer where it once was. The landmass drifted south, fractured and reshaped by nature’s wrath. Borders dissolved, governments fell, and out of the ruins, a singular power emerged: The Party.
They promised order. They delivered oppression.
In a world where survival outweighed morality, they turned back the clock, stripping women of autonomy, crushing dissent, and ruling with iron-fisted control. After all, when everything else collapses, men cling to the illusion of dominance.
But not everyone bowed.
The Resistance rose from the shadows, whispering of rebellion, daring to fight. And in the heart of this war-torn, ravaged world, this is where our story begins.
Because once upon a time, I had loved him.
Once upon a time, I had believed my life revolved around him.
Once upon a time, I had thought we were unbreakable.
But once upon a time was a lifetime ago.
Now, he stands on the side of The Party.
And I?
I stand against him.
