Welcome Home

First of all, I want to apologize—I don’t know you or anyone else, nor do I know how you got here. But one thing is certain: once one of you leaves, another will appear three days later. If you strictly follow the rules, you will make it back to reality unharmed. You might want to consider some therapy afterward, as you will remember everything that happened here.

Before we get to the rules, here are some things you need to know about yourself:

No matter how old you are in reality, your first day here will always begin at the age of thirteen.

You and I are twins. Follow my instructions accordingly.

This is a “dream.” If you abide by the rules, you might eventually wake up. When you do, your real life will continue as usual—except you will remember everything about this “dream.”

I trust you understand these things by now. It’s time for me to introduce the rules. I must emphasize this: you must follow them completely. If you don’t, you will never wake up again.

Even if you aren’t truly my sibling, I will care for you as if you were. I don’t want to see you get hurt. Please, believe me.

Every family has its own rules for getting along. Now, I’ll explain how you should interact with each member.

Mother

Mom is dangerous. Be extremely careful around her.

*Avoid Mom. Unless absolutely necessary, try not to interact with her. The more you engage with her, the more likely you are to anger her. DO NOT ANGER HER.

*Never call her “Mom” or “Mother.” She finds those words offensive. Address her by anything else.

*If she asks you to do something, drop whatever you’re doing and help her immediately. Do not delay. If you hesitate, she will get angry.

*Pay close attention to her mood. Watch the shows she likes. Memorize her daily schedule (you can find it on the fridge). Follow it accordingly.

*It’s best to study while she’s home. If she doesn’t see you studying, she will assume you aren’t.

*Never close the door to our shared room when she is home.

*She is like any other mother—show her respect at all times. If you don’t, you will suffer the consequences.

*Mom owns a metal discipline rod. She uses it for punishment. Do your best to avoid being punished.

Little Sister

Our sister is five years younger than us. Stay calm around her.

*Do not hurt her. I will give you three chances—if you harm her more than three times, I will personally report you to Mother.

*Protect her. Her young heart should not have to endure this torment.

*She has many toys. They are alive and like to wander around the house at night. They are not dangerous, but if you harm one of them, you will face the consequences. This is why you should never leave our room at night—it’s too easy to accidentally step on one.

Uncle

Uncle will hurt Mom once. This will cause us to temporarily move somewhere else for a month. That month will be pure torment.

There are no special rules for Uncle—just interact with him normally.

These are all the rules for our family members. Oh, except for one more—Grandfather. There are no rules or information about him. Just treat him as you would anyone else.

Father

*For the most part, Father will not hurt you directly. However, he will complain about you to Mom.

*Study with him for at least an hour every day. This will prevent him from complaining about your studies. If possible, I suggest studying with him for even longer—he’s very intelligent, and you can learn a lot from him.

*Do not complain to Father about Mother. He won’t keep your secrets.

*Father is almost always in his study. Do not enter between 5 PM and 9 PM. During those hours, HE IS NOT FATHER.

Other Rules

Besides these, there are a few more rules we need to follow. I’ll list them here.

*Things in our room might move on their own. Do not question it. Just carry on as usual. Mom will check everything. Do not bring any furniture home from outside. If you need something, tell Dad. Do not move anything in the house by yourself—Mom will get angry.

*There is a large portrait of Grandma in the hallway. If I’m not around, you can talk to it. Grandma loves you. She’s listening, even if she can’t respond.

*School is fine, but be careful. Do not try to seek help there. The moment you try to say something, memories will flood your mind—warm moments of Mom’s kindness, of Father’s gentleness. Even if you think they are terrible parents, these memories will make you feel sad.

*I know that at some point, you might hurt yourself. I can’t help you—I have my own problems, too. But please, be careful. I care about you.

*If you die before I go to college—whether at Mom’s hands or your own—you will never wake up. I’m sorry.

*You can create any social media accounts you want. Aside from me, our little sister, and any friends you might have, no one else will ever know about them. When you wake up, these accounts will still exist. Any online friends you make will remain, but only on the internet. I don’t know why this happens. But have fun.

How to Wake Up

If you survive until the day I leave for college, you will wake up. But before that happens, something will take place.

I will scream at Mom. I will tell her how awful she is. Do not stop me. She will be furious. She will kill me with the metal discipline rod. I suggest you do not watch. You have something more important to do. Follow these steps. Do not let her kill you—I WANT YOU TO WAKE UP.

The moment Mom starts attacking me, take our little sister and run upstairs. I know you’ll want to help me. I know my screams will be unbearable. But go upstairs. Don’t worry about me, I'll be fine. This has happened before. Your safety is the only thing that matters now.

Lock the door to our room. Once she’s done with me, this will buy you some time.

You must jump out the window. Run to the white house across the street. I suggest pushing our sister out first and using her body to cushion your fall. I know that sounds cruel, but once you leave, Mom will break down the door and kill her anyway. If you push her, she only dies sooner.

Do not go to any house other than the white one. The others are empty—just endless voids. If you hesitate and turn back, it will be too late. Mom will be waiting. You cannot escape her. She will kill you. And the void is worse.

The person standing in front of the white house will be the person you hate most in real life. Convince them to let you in. I know you don’t like them, but you only need to persuade them for ten minutes. If you fail, they will shut the door, and Mom will find you.

Once inside, call the police. Stay there until they arrive.

When the police leave, you will be safe. The only thing left to do is die in this world. Then, you will wake up.

I don’t recommend killing yourself immediately. You can do whatever you want here—travel, learn new things, play music, master a skill, experience anything. When you wake up, you will remember everything.

I WANT YOU TO WAKE UP.

If you’re wondering why I’m leaving this message here, it’s because I don’t know who will appear next. If you show up without any knowledge of this place, it would be a disaster.

Having even a vague idea of what’s coming will save me a lot of time. Because once you wake up in my world, I will only have an hour to explain everything. Someone once panicked and died—just because Mom woke up to the noise.

I don’t want that to happen to you.

If you wake up here, good luck. And remember—no matter what, I will always love you.

Goodbye. I hope I never meet you.
