Retcon
The world around them trembled as the corruption spread, warping the very fabric of reality. The sky flickered between hues of black and crimson, distorting the once-familiar landscape. Pibby, Boyfriend, Darwin, and Gumball stood together, facing the corrupted versions of Finn and Jake, who were no longer the heroes they once knew.
Finn, his armor jagged and cracked, his sword warped and pulsing with dark energy, stepped forward. His eyes glowed with a sickly light, and his voice, once full of adventure and hope, was now a deep, guttural growl.
“You can’t stop us,” he snarled, his voice echoing in the air. “We’re the corruption now. We’ll tear this world apart... and there’s nothing you can do to stop it.”
Jake, once the loyal, stretchable companion, now stood hunched and monstrous, his body contorted in unnatural ways, his voice now warped and twisted.
“Yeah, little guys,” Jake said with a dark laugh. “You’re too late. We’ve already won.”
The four heroes stood in silence for a moment, their hearts heavy. They knew they were up against something far more powerful than they had ever faced. But they weren’t going to let Finn and Jake fall completely into the darkness. Not without a fight.
Pibby glanced at Boyfriend, who was gripping his microphone tightly. “We have to stop them... before the corruption consumes everything.”
Boyfriend nodded, his voice steady but full of determination. “Yeah. Let’s do this.”
Darwin looked at Gumball, his face conflicted. “I don’t want to hurt them. They’re our friends...”
Gumball clenched his fists, his gaze hardened with resolve. “I don’t either. But we don’t have a choice anymore. We have to fight.”
With a deep breath, Pibby stepped forward, her own fear giving way to an intense desire to save her friends. “We’re not letting you win.”
Finn raised his corrupted sword and slashed at them in one swift motion, sending a shockwave through the air. The attack was fast, unpredictable. But Boyfriend reacted instantly, dodging and leaping into the air, the microphone in his hand sparking as he swung it, sending out waves of sound that collided with Finn’s blade, deflecting the blow.
“Nice try,” Boyfriend smirked, landing back on his feet.
But before he could catch his breath, Jake stretched his arms and attempted to wrap them around Pibby, his limbs morphing into grotesque shapes as they shot toward her like whips. Pibby managed to dodge, flipping backward, but one of Jake’s limbs grazed her side, knocking the wind out of her.
“Pibby!” Darwin yelled, rushing to her side.
“I’m fine,” Pibby gasped, pushing herself back up. “We have to keep going.”
As Finn and Jake advanced again, the air seemed to ripple with dark energy. Finn charged at Boyfriend, swinging his corrupted sword in a deadly arc. Boyfriend twirled his microphone like a staff, meeting Finn’s blade in midair. The clash of metal against sound created a shockwave that sent ripples through the air, distorting the landscape around them.
Pibby, seeing an opening, rushed at Finn from behind, attempting to grab his sword arm, but Jake stretched out in an instant, wrapping his elongated limbs around her and pulling her back with terrifying strength.
“Let her go!” Darwin shouted, his body already moving before his mind could catch up. He lunged forward, using his aquatic agility to slip past Jake’s flailing limbs and deliver a swift kick to the side of his corrupted form. Jake staggered, his body wobbling, but he quickly regenerated, his body stretching and reforming with an eerie growl.
“You think you can beat us?” Jake mocked, his voice a twisted version of its former playfulness. “We’re invincible now!”
As the battle raged on, the four friends fought with everything they had, each attack a desperate attempt to hold on to the hope that Finn and Jake could still be saved. But the more they fought, the more the corruption pushed back, overwhelming their strength.
Suddenly, Finn charged at Pibby again, his sword swinging with lightning speed. She barely managed to dodge, but the force of the attack left her off-balance. Just as she was about to fall, Boyfriend appeared, sliding in front of her. With a fierce shout, he swung his microphone upward, colliding with Finn’s sword and creating a burst of energy that sent Finn flying back.
“We won’t give up,” Boyfriend said, his chest heaving from the exertion, but his eyes unwavering. “You’re not lost. Not yet.”
But just as they thought they had gained some ground, the corruption around Finn and Jake seemed to flare up. Finn’seyes burned brighter, his corrupted form shifting and growing even more monstrous.
“You’re too weak,” Finn snarled, his voice crackling with distortion. “We’re the end of everything. You can’t win.”
The ground beneath their feet began to crack, the world itself seeming to bend under the weight of the corruption. The landscape around them turned into a swirling vortex of dark energy, a distortion of reality itself. The corrupted Finn and Jake loomed over them, their monstrous forms looming larger than life.
But as the battle seemed to reach its breaking point, something inside Pibby snapped. She could feel it—the last thread of hope still clinging to Finn and Jake. She couldn’t give up. Not now.
“We’re not done,” she shouted, rallying the others. “We’ll save you, Finn. We’ll save you, Jake!”
Together, they regrouped, their willpower stronger than the darkness surrounding them. They had come too far to stop now. Their friendship, their bond, would be their greatest weapon against the corruption.
