Prologue

Vaelwyn had been seperated in three circles since the beginning of the Time, when Vaelwyn was born out of the ashes of a burning hour.

The first circle hosted the royals and nobels, the dragon riders and the Warders. Not the Warders who questioned and raped innocents on the streets, but the Warders who guarded the Time Vault. Warders of the Time Vault were all sacred. No one really knew how many of them guarded the Vault, but the citizens knew the value.

The second circle was home to the Normals, Crafters and Truthhunters. Normals, those born without a special trait, made up most of the second circle lives. Crafters, who crafted with the magic they could access through time and room, created what the rest of the circles lived by. Watches, loads of watches, and spoons, and paintings. The Truthhunters, on the other hand, made up the smallest portion of the people of the second circle. They hunted truths and secrets.

The third circle, also called 'Home to the Forgotten' or 'Zone of Dead and Forgotten', was mainly slums. The Forgotten dwelded there, those whose lives were forgotten by the others. Those who had traits by birth, but lost the throughout their lives. Their abilities crumpling through the years like a burning piece of paper.

The people feared the third. They feared that they would wander the streets of that zone, away from the status and illusion of power their families manadged to secure. But not all were worthy of the 'Zone of Dead and Forgotten', some were sent away, far from the City of Time.

No one ever lived to tell the tale of what was out there, since the Time Wards around Vaelwyn contained a special type of time, slowing the years and days, making those within age slower, the day and nights last longer and the outside world seem to spin faster. Stepping outside the wards was suicide.

But the elders liked to spread the tale of long forgotten cities, where no monarch ruled over the Forgotten and where all were equals. They called the city Elarion, which is claimed to translate into peace from the ancient language of Time Fae.

No evidence of such place has ever been found, despite centuries of passionate and devestating research. The city of the Time Fae remains a rumor, and as of right now, will continue to do so for a long, long time.
