How Empires Fall

All Rights Reserved ©

Summary

All medieval empires have fallen. Droughts, conflict, & economy tend to be the biggest competitors when it comes to the end of entire empires. But what about an empire that fell at the cost of one person's exile? Well, there is one. An entire empire. Wiped because someone wanted revenge. Lloyd Castil was the son of a blacksmith in the Royal City of Venhom, the capital of the Nariadi Valley Empire. King Lorcan II despised Lloyd from the beginning. After the execution of his father, King Lorcan wasted no time and exiled him from the entirety of the Nariadi Valley. He was only sixteen on the day of his exile and was now left wandering the vast expanse of Heirvesh. Other empires caught on to the shenanigans Nariadi had pulled. Nariadi, on the other hand, had no idea what was coming to them. Lloyd had found something within the mountains of Kinkami. The exact tool he'd need for his revenge. But no one expected what he had found, and didn't believe he could befriend the dangerous creatures. But now, it was Lloyd's time to shine and prove everyone wrong once again. He knew what he wanted and wasn't stopping for anyone.

All About Heirvesh

All About Heirvesh, 08.11.2025

The full Heirvesh map...

Heirvesh: The continent before the modern-day Pyrix, a world slightly smaller than the planet Uranus. Pyrix now, Pyrix then. Now, the ruins of what once was medieval Heirvesh pollute the northern land. The other empires, not including Wushu & Nariadi, still stand in today's Heirvesh. Wushu and Nariadi are now nothing but ruins of what they once were. In the time of Medieval Heirvesh, there were issues with Wushu and suspicion around the Nariadi Valley. So the destruction by dragons was a blessing for the Silke Valley, the Kinkamian Empire and the Empire of Raijin.

Empires

Empire of Raijin: Raijin is one of two Japanese Empires in Heirvesh. Their capital city is Tatsurai-jo, meaning "Castle of the Thunder Dragon." It is the most populated capital in Heirvesh with 27,218 residents. Raijin means "Thunder God." Aptley is named after their most powerful Shogun, Raiden Harunobu. He was nicknamed "Yadosu Shogun." A shortened form of "Kaminari o yadosu Shogun," meaning "Thunderbearing Shogun." The entire empire has the highest population at 2,876,755 or just 2.9 million. Their current Shogun is the great-grandson of Raiden, Seiryu Harunobu, with their capital having a connection to his as Seiryu is "Azure Dragon." They're a pretty big ally of the Silke Valley and an even bigger one of the Kinkamian Empire, and have been having troubles with Wushu like many others. They are also the largest by landmass, as they are 1.16 million km². (726,000 mi²).

Silke Valley: Silke is arguably the victim in the case with the Kingdom of Wushu and Nariadi Valley. Wushu launched their attack, and almost immediately, the Silke Valley was backed up by Raijin and Kinkami. Their capital city is Eden, one of the least populated capitals at 5622. Only beating the capital of Kinkami. Silke Valley is ruled by a well-respected monarch among the allied Empires, and that's Queen Henrieta. They are the second most populous with 1,718,317 people. Or just 1.7 million. Their landmass is also quite large at 955,000 km². (594,000 mi²).

Kinkamian Empire: Kinkami is the secondary Japanese empire. Their name, Kinkami, means "Golden God." Their capital, Kinryuto, means "Island of the Golden Dragon." Their current Shogun is Tatsu no Ikari, otherwise known as Doragon-shin. The dragon god. Kinkami is believed to have the biggest population of dragons of all five empires, thus making the dragon their animal. Their capital is the least populated at 1212, while their empire itself has a populous of 1,508,076 people (1.5 million). Their landmass comes in at 910,000 km². (566,000 mi²).

Kingdom of Wushu: Wushu has made themselves tonnes of enemies after the attack on the Silke Valley. Their only ally was the Nariadi Valley, which led to the other empires becoming suspicious of Nariadi and even further so after the exile of a 16-year-old boy. Their capital is Zhoulongjing, a port city that means "Torch Dragon Well" in English. The capital is one of the more populated capitals with a populous of 7426. They take up 822,000 km². (511,000 mi²). And their total population comes in at 1,115,327, 1.1 million and is ruled by the Chinese Empress Zhu Hualing.

Nariadi Valley: Nariadi is slowly digging itself a deeper and deeper hole. In the beginning, they weren't exactly liked, but not necessarily hated. Everyone except for Wushu was neutral to them. Then the Wuhsu attack on Silke happened, and suspicion began to rise. Further so after the exile of 16-year-old Lloyd Castil and the random execution of his father. They're the smallest empire by population and land. But their capital, Vehnom, is the second most populous capital behind Raijin's. With a whopping 11,230 citizens in the capital alone. Then there's the actual empire with the smallest population, at 574,372. Then their landmass is a measly 325,000 km². (202,000 mi²) when compared to the other four.

Dragons of Heirvesh (Pyrix)

The dragons in Heirvesh have been hunted nonstop. Sometimes, a dragon was killed for the safety of the empire. Most times, they are killed for their hoards. Dragons have become more vicious over the years, as so many die at the hands of armies and greedy monarchs. Empires like Kinkami and Silke are tired of seeing this and fight constantly. The dragons, as they've grown to the intelligence of humans, have been taking notes of this, and as of the 10th century, 95% of Heirvesh's dragons reside in Kinkami and Silke.

Unfortunately, many breeds have gone extinct in Heirvesh due to the actions of humans, resulting in them having way less variety compared to other continents in Pyrix, but those breeds that remain just so happen to be the most dangerous of the crop. Lastly, there have also been very few reports of dragons speaking words, and although empires say they've been disproved, they never actually are. Almost all of the reports stated they spoke in broken English, but there have been very few reports of them saying things in perfect English. But if it was perfect English, it was short and not much longer. Or at least... that's what been thought.

Irisalis - Irisalis dragons reside all over Pyrix, but have been the most hunted since their discovery in Heirvesh. But they fight and often win. The Irisalis was discovered by a Latin explorer sailing across the seas a couple of hundred years ago, and the first sighting in Heirvesh was by a Kinkami patrol. They're white dragons with rainbow eyes and spikes. Also rainbow is the membranes of their wings. They often grow attached to an individual they know they can trust, but if they don't see one that way, then they strike, often leaving nothing behind but a trail of blood. Their claim to fame is a rage ability that often results in less than beautiful endings. Empires like the Naradi Valley have been fooled into believing that hunting them makes them stronger. To put it simply, their rage ability is the result of pain brought onto someone they're close to is mirrored and inflicted onto the attacker. Whether it be physical or emotional. These dragons are also often theorized to have healing capabilities for the individual they know they can trust.

Kaminari - Discovered by Raiden Harunobu in Heirvesh, Kaminari dragons are the storms. The first sighting of one in Pyrix was by a lone Japanese sailor from a nearby continent. Kaminari means "Thunder," and it was one of the events that resulted in Shogun Raiden gaining the nickname "Yadosu Shogun" despite being a minor result. These dragons soon became widespread after the initial discovery and were described by the Shogun as "Arashi no tenshi-tachi," Angels of the storm. Barely anyone knew about Kaminari dragons until the discovery by the renowned Shogun. Unfortunately, after the discovery, the Shogun died under mysterious circumstances. Kaminari dragons are often avoided with the belief that they're cursed, despite being just light blue dragons with no known magic aside from causing a trusted individuals enemies to turn on one another, but even that's debated

Moonstone Glider - After an accidental discovery by an oblivious Silke Valley knight, Moonstone Gliders were first discovered in Heirvesh and have been seen in other continents as well. They were found nearly 1,000 years ago and are still around. Moonstone Gliders were a perfect match to space before humans heard of it. Their wing membranes resemble the violet hues of space with white dots to match the stars. They aren't dangerous if they're left alone, but with humans being humans, they still try to hunt them.

Yoru Seishin - The most recent dragons discovered and native to only Heirvesh (More specifically, Kinkami.) They were first found by Kinkamian trappers three decades ago on a usual hunt, when one fell for a trap. Yoru Seishin dragons are night spirits, as their name means "Night Spirit." They live only in Kinkami and haven't been seen anywhere else except for the occasional visitor to the Silke Valley. These dragons are simply black with white markings that arch halfway around their body until stopping at the base of the tail, while their eyes are entirely black. No pupil and no white sclera. Just a black void which often terrifies visitors from Raijin, Naridi, Wushu and other continents.

Obsidian: He's hilarious. Like, actually. I loved it. You're writing style is great, although you could do with a few less murmurs and mutters.
