Romance I

Cantando estaban las locas

muy temprano en la mañana,

entre burros y gallinas,

cultivando su cebada,

que además de estar loquitas,

a borrachas, licenciadas

por doctores bien beodos,

las dementes aspiraban.

Día de todos los Santos,

muy temprano en la mañana,

de mil seiscientos y pico,

bajo el sol de Nueva España,

doña Suí con altas voces

contra todos blasfemaba;

maldiciendo l’impia suerte

que econtrose esa mañana:

<¡Jeiselnú, hermana mía,

Jeiselnú, la mía hermana!

¡Lenta, insulsa e con agua

en las venas y en las bragas!

¿No te dije, ¡madre mía!,

que el doctor don Luis de Estrada,

entre perlas y algodones,

el mio nombre murmuraba?

¿A qué, entonces, babosa,

lerda, zafia, vil turbada,

contra mis esfuerzos vienes

a romperme la celada?

¡Que ya lo tengo enterito

para asarlo entre las flamas!>

Aqueste canto entre sones

de marranos y de vacas

resonó con tanta furia

en ecos de carcajadas

de labriegos y matronas,

siervos de la majada,

del arado y de la rueca,

mas no de la banca airada.

Y le dijo la gemela,

que Suí llamó como hermana,

bien veréis lo que le dijo,

sin ira y con toda calma:

<Vanas voces das el día

que amanecí desvirgada,

que la roca dura y firme

pierde por gotas del agua.

¿Los hombres gustan de guerra,

de combates y de lanzas,

de espadas, cuchillos y cascos,

de caballos y de adargas?

Tarde entendiste, biliosa,

que Cupido a Marte engaña,

y que con Venus pernocta

arropado entre las mantas;

mientras en campos de guerra

viril lamento se exhala,

entre brazos femeninos

otros sonidos nos cantan.

¡No el combate, hermana fiera,

sino dos redondas nalgas,

al hombre viril le anuncian

la mejor de sus batallas!>

Y en mil risas campesinas,

con tremendas carcajadas,

los diálogos prosiguieron

de esta guisa las hermanas,

borrachas de todo el cuerpo

desde la juerga pasada,

arrojándose razones

de quién era la ultrajada;

ambas sentían derechos

sobre el macho a quien amaban,

una por honor y fuerza;

la otra, por deslechadas.

Y así pasaron treinta años

en el Imperio de España

y en la casita pequeña

do vivían las hermanas.

Maggie Varnum: Like that it was fast paced and suspenseful...loved the romance up ended a little to fast ...would have been better if there was a Luna ceremony chapter and a birth of son with name chapter with Cole as a dramatic dad in the delivery scene .... Overall I enjoyed it very much!

Talia Kendrick : Honestly I love it but to be honest I don't agree with the fact that he lies to Clara for so long and then when she finally gets the truth he expects her to be okay. And you have a few grammar issues that you can improve on.
