Chapter 1
Officer Green hated the room with crimson drapes and black marble floors. It was where Lady Monroe had humiliated him for the first time.
He tried to look away, but his mistress’s cool right hand cupping his chin forced him to keep her gaze.
“You dared let another woman’s touch sully you.” Lady Monroe’s voice was dripping with venom.
Terence shuddered.
“My lady, I would never —” His breath hitched when her left hand slipped between his legs.
“Don’t. Lie.” She stressed every word.
Terry’s heart raced. He was close to tears.
“Forgive me, mistress. It was an accident,” he whispered, closing his eyes, unable to bear her accusing gaze. He braced for the pain.
Since she’d decided to bed him, Lady Monroe took to a new way of tormenting Terrence. He never knew if she would give him pleasure, or pain, or both. Or if she’d tease and deny him, leaving him burning with need. Today she opted for the last one. Terry let out a small sound when she took away her hand after stroking him just enough to make his body respond.
“You’ve gotten used to it,” Lady Monroe said, tracing the leather collar he was wearing, her long, light pink fingernail grazing his skin. “You need something more… intense to remind you of who you belong to.”
Terrence shot her a panicked look. Lady Monroe was displeased with him, and that meant she’d make him suffer. Trembling, he remembered the events that had brought him here, wondering how he could have been such a fool.
