Chapter 1
A bounty hunter walked into the bar and asked the bartender for a beer. As he sat down, he pulled out some gold coins and paid.
Suddenly, a girl burst through the door, screaming at the bounty hunter.
The bartender asked, “Aaron, do you know this girl?”
Aaron glared at the bartender while taking a drink.
The girl walked up to Aaron and introduced herself. “My name is Lisa.”
Aaron sighed. “Lisa, please, leave me alone.”
Lisa started complaining, and Aaron grew annoyed. “Get out of the bar. Now.”
Lisa’s face turned pale. Embarrassed and frightened, she ran out.
The bartender frowned. “Why did you do that?”
Aaron explained, “If I train her, she’ll never survive.”
Rob, the bartender, replied, “You don’t know that. Please, just try. I promise you all the root beer you can drink.”
Aaron gave in, left the bar, and found Lisa. He began teaching her how to shoot. She missed several times, but eventually, she hit her target. Lisa jumped with excitement, and Aaron praised her. To celebrate, they returned to the bar.
Later, they set out on a dangerous training mission. Together, they faced blood ogres—huge, ugly monsters with fangs dripping and clubs made from the bones of their enemies. Each step they took made the ground shake.
In the desert, Aaron and Lisa spotted a massive blood ogre. Lisa volunteered to fight it.
“Go ahead,” Aaron said. “Let’s see what you’ve learned.”
“Yes!” Lisa shouted, excitement in her voice. Without hesitation, she pulled out her shiny metal gun, its surface reflecting her image. She fired, but the ogre didn’t back down.
The blood ogre swung its massive club at Lisa. She dodged and fired again, hitting it, but the beast struck her, knocking her to the ground and cracking her ribs. Lisa’s bones were broken.
Aaron immediately jumped in. He pushed her out of the way and fired a shot from his black metal pistol, straight into the ogre’s eye, blinding it. Then he fired again, hitting it hard.
The blood ogre roared in pain, its mouth wide open. Aaron pulled out a round glass bottle filled with gunpowder. He threw it into the monster’s mouth and quickly fired his pistol.
The bottle exploded inside the ogre, killing it instantly.
Aaron carried Lisa back home, where he treated her wounds and gave her medicine. She lay in bed, wrapped in bandages, while Rob came to visit. He sat beside her, worried, watching over Lisa as she slowly began to recover.
