Chapter 1 part 2

Red Light – Scene: The New Ally

The red-lit world twists around Sahr, Aariz, and Zayan. Shadows crawl along the walls, whispering unintelligible words. The air tastes metallic, and the heartbeat of the red light pulses faster, as if sensing intruders.

Sahr glances ahead and suddenly notices a faint silhouette, standing in the shadows of a narrow alley.

Sahr (surprised, whispering):

"Who… who’s there?"

The figure steps forward. It’s a girl, around Sahr’s age, with wild, untamed hair and sharp, alert eyes. She wears a long coat that seems to blend with the shadows.

New Girl (smiling faintly, calm but mysterious):

"Sahr… I’ve been waiting for you."

Sahr blinks, confused but relieved.

Sahr:

"Wait… you know me?"

New Girl (nodding, stepping closer):

"I’m Liora. I… I’ve been trapped here too, but I’ve learned how to move without drawing the shadows’ attention."

Aariz (stepping protectively forward):

"Who are you really? Can we trust you?"

Liora (smirking slightly):

"Trust is complicated here. But if you want to survive, you’ll need me."

The shadows around them shift, almost in response to her presence. She moves gracefully, and it’s clear she’s familiar with the rules of this twisted world.

Sahr (relieved, whispering to herself):

"Finally… someone who can help."

Zayan (uneasy):

"She… feels different. Like… part of this place."

Liora (teasing, almost playful):

"Part of it, yes. But I still remember who I am. And I know what it’s like to be hunted here."

The four of them—Sahr, Aariz, Zayan, and now Liora—begin moving cautiously, deeper into the twisted alleys. The red light above flares and dims, as if warning them of the danger ahead.

Suddenly, a distant scream echoes, distorted and hollow, sending a shiver down their spines.

Aariz (clenching his fists):

"That… that came from ahead. We have to be careful."

Liora (nodding, serious now):

"Careful won’t be enough. Here, every step… every sound… can draw attention. You need to follow my lead."

Narration (Sahr’s thoughts):

"Finally, I’m not alone. But somehow… I feel the danger has only just begun. And now… there’s something in her eyes… something she’s not telling us."

The four move forward into the twisting, red-lit street. Shadows stretch and reach for them, the whispers grow louder, and the world itself seems to test their courage at every step.

Red Light – Scene: The Thing Without a Name

The red light suddenly goes out.

Not darkness… not light either.

Just a hollow feeling — as if time itself has stopped.

The air moves, but from no direction at all.

The ground is beneath them… yet it doesn’t feel real.

Sahr (softly, shaken):

“This place… it doesn’t feel like before.”

Liora stops.

For the first time, her face turns pale.

Aariz:

“You said you knew the rules of this world.”

Liora (quietly):

“This place… has no rules.”

Silence falls.

Suddenly, their own shadows begin to separate from the ground.

But these shadows don’t copy them —

they begin turning into something else.

Zayan (stepping back):

“My shadow… why is it looking at me?”

The shadow lifts its head —

where eyes should be, there is only empty red light.

Then a voice speaks…

neither male nor female, not even human.

The Voice:

“You are not guests of this world…”

“You are… a mistake.”

Sahr’s heart pounds.

Sahr:

“Who are you?”

The voice laughs — but there is no joy in it.

The Voice:

“I have no name…

because names give things identity.”

“And I… must never be identified.”

Red markings appear on the ground —

circle-like shapes, but never complete.

Liora (her voice trembling):

“This is the thing people only whispered about…

the one that is born when someone

gets stuck between two worlds.”

Aariz grips Sahr’s hand tightly.

Aariz:

“Then what are we to it?”

The shadows begin moving closer, one by one.

The Voice (drawing nearer):

“You are a decision.”

“Either you become part of this world…

or you drag this world down with you.”

The red light suddenly flares back on —

but it is no longer the same.

This time, the light does not fall on them…

it this time it fell inside them

Red Light – Scene: Faces That Shouldn’t Be Here

The red light dims.

The shadows stop moving.

Sahr’s breath catches in her throat.

The shadow standing in front of her begins to change.

First, its face becomes blurred.

Then slowly—painfully—it takes shape.

Her mother.

The same eyes.

The same voice.

The same gentle tone.

Shadow (in her mother’s form, softly):

“Sahr, my child… just come to me. You’re so frightened.”

Sahr’s heart feels like it’s breaking.

Sahr (trembling):

“Ami…?

How—how are you here?”

Aariz steps forward immediately.

Aariz (shouting):

“Sahr! This isn’t real!”

But the shadow smiles—

a perfect copy of her mother’s smile.

Shadow-Mother:

“You always say that.

Every time the truth tries to call you back.”

Another shadow forms beside it.

This time—

Her father.

Shadow-Father (stern voice):

“You’ve been stubborn enough, Sahr.

Come home.”

Sahr’s feet begin to move forward—

without her control.

Sahr (crying):

“I want to go home…

I just want to go home…”

Liora’s face turns pale.

Liora (fast but low):

“Look at their eyes, Sahr!”

Sahr stops.

She looks closely.

The eyes—

Empty.

Burning with red light.

No warmth.

No recognition.

Liora:

“These aren’t your parents.

They’re feeding on your memories.”

The Shadow-Mother’s face begins to crack, like breaking glass.

Shadow (now in a nameless, hollow voice):

“We only become

what you desire the most.”

Zayan steps back.

Zayan:

“So if we believe you…?”

The shadow moves closer and whispers:

Shadow:

“Then you will never feel alone again.”

Sahr closes her eyes.

Tears fall.

Then she steps back.

Sahr (strong, steady voice):

“My mother would never call me like this.

And my father would never use lies.”

The red light flares brightly.

The shadow screams—

and shatters into darkness.

Silence.

Sahr’s hand is shaking,

but in her eyes now—along with fear—there is strength.

Aariz (softly):

“You were brave.”

Liora (taking a deep breath):

“This world knows now…

you are no longer just visitors.

You can fight it.”

Far away, another red light turns on—

as if the next test is already waiting.
