Chapter 1
As a girl, boys don’t know what we go through.
They see us wearing makeup and think it’s for beauty or fashion. But no—it’s only covering the tears behind it.
We wake up in the morning, get out of bed, take a bath, do our skincare, get dressed, put on makeup, and look stunning.
But they don’t know what is beyond all that.
Yet still, they have the audacity to break our hearts.
Life always revolves around girls.
When a girl is almost 30 and not married, it’s a problem. But a boy can be 45 and not engaged, and no one cares.
Girls take all the pressure; we bear all the attention in strange ways.
We go through a lot—period cramps, heartbreak, marriage pressure.
If there’s a divorce, girls are affected more. Boys move on easily. But we think of the kids, our dignity, and society.
Why must it be this way for us?
Meanwhile, boys just sit still and look handsome.
Have they ever wondered what it feels like to be us?
Have they ever wondered how period pains hurt?
Have they ever wondered how we deal with all this suffering, yet still put on makeup?
It’s not for fashion. It’s to hide pain, to hide scars, to hide stress.
But still, they come close, make us feel loved, only to dump us and leave us heartbroken.
Lion’s voices and commands are heard, but they need us, lionesses, to rule too. They need us for comfort; they need us as shields.
When they come home angry from a fight, they need us to vent with.
When they need an heir for the throne, they still need us.
Everything revolves around us too.
Yet still, they make our voices seem weak.
But we are strong. When they break up with us, we still live. That’s how powerful we are.
They don’t know what we are going through.
Yet they take all the credit for hunting and providing, while we do the same. Without us, they would be stores with no customers.
We supply for them.
And we are tired of them telling us to step aside, as if it doesn’t concern us. Everything concerns us. When they are injured, we are the ones restless at night.
We are tired. It’s high time they acknowledge us too.
We need credit and respect for our efforts.
We are their strength, beyond the world.
