Chapter 1The Sketch of a Heart
Bangkok’s morning sun spilled golden light across the streets, glinting off the glass windows of the city’s busiest design school. Among the crowd of students hurrying to class, Narin, a quiet but talented fashion design student, clutched her sketchbook like it was a treasure.
Her world was patterns, fabrics, and colors—everything neat, structured, and planned. But today, something felt… unpredictable.
As she entered the design studio, her eyes landed on Pim, the new exchange student from Chiang Mai, who carried herself with effortless confidence and a mischievous smile. Pim’s dark hair framed her face perfectly, and the way she examined the mannequins suggested she wasn’t just interested in fashion—she wanted to understand it.
“Hi, I’m Pim,” she said, her accent soft and lilting. “I heard this is the best design school in Thailand. Hope you can show me around?”
Narin’s heart skipped. She nodded, words sticking in her throat. Instead, she offered her sketchbook as a silent introduction.
As they sat together, sharing ideas and critiques, Narin noticed something strange. Pim didn’t just look at the sketches—she saw them. Every line, every shade, every tiny detail seemed to matter to her. And with every comment Pim made, Narin’s heart drew a new design of its own—one she had never planned.
By the time the class ended, the sun was dipping below the city skyline, painting everything in a warm orange glow. Narin realized that sometimes, the best designs aren’t made on paper—they’re made in the heart.
And maybe, just maybe, this was the start of something she didn’t need a blueprint for.
