Chapter 1
It was a matter of a long time ago, the Almighty created Genies, but pride grew within them and they started considering themselves greater than the Almighty. Then the Almighty created His angels and sent them to make the genies slaves. Some genies bowed their heads, some hid in their lamps, and some started fighting the Almighty's angels. The war lasted for 700 years and the genies lost. Then the Almighty created humans and told the genies they would become slaves to humans.
But one genie, Sammum, refused. He said that humans are selfish and greedy. Sammum started a war against the Almighty; Sammum was at the forefront of the war. The Almighty said that he would fulfill 3 wishes for humans and make them greedy and kill them, but if a noble human used their wish for the well-being of others, then Sammum would have to accept defeat, his head would be cut off, and he would be sent to the underworld. Sammum was a very big devil; he made thousands of people evil and killed them, and pride had grown inside him.It is a matter of 1077 AD, people were brought from Gyeongju and Nara as slaves to Al Wasl and they had to work very hard. One night, while the slaves were being taken, there was sand everywhere. Suddenly, wild dogs appeared there and the master threw a child in front of them and ran away; the child died right there. A little further away, a sandstorm arrived, and the master threw another girl. She collided with the lamp and Sammum came out of it and said, "I am a genie, I can fulfill 3 of your wishes." But the girl said nothing. The genie said, "I am truly a genie." The girl asked, "Can you save that child? The one who was stuck in the quicksand on the way." Sammum was in his pride; he made her rich instead and said, "Your wish is fulfilled." The girl's name was Yuki; she said while crying, "From today, no one will come here as a slave." Sammum blocked the path itself. An angel of the Almighty appeared there and said, "You killed thousands of people, and to block that path, an earthquake and thunder had to be brought."Then Sammum arrived and said, "Your wish is fulfilled." Yuki said, "Both you and I should be punished because I have killed many people." Sammum sent wild dogs after Yuki. There were marks and wounds on Yuki's body, face, and neck. Yuki said, "We should be punished," and she died. Sammum felt great anger, but he also felt sadness.
20 years later, Sammum had no master; he had become bored. He saw Yuki and was surprised. The Almighty had brought Yuki back to life, but Yuki remembered nothing. The marks were still on her face and body. Sammum followed her; he was happy. He asked, "How are you still alive?" Yuki said, "I don't know, don't follow me." But Sammum kept following her and kept bothering her.Yuki was selling fruit in the market. Sammum made her fall with magic; Yuki's fruit fell down and got ruined. Yuki asked Sammum, "Why are you following me?" Then Sammum gave Yuki a gold coin. Yuki gave Sammum some fruit and said, "I don't take anything for free." Sammum felt something strange and good. While going home at night, Yuki gave fruit to some beggars' children.
The next day, Yuki went to get a ride so she could go to her home. Her home was in Nara, Gyeongju. Sammum was with her, but Yuki told Sammum not to follow her. A merchant told Yuki he had a good ride; Yuki followed him, but he was an evil man. He snatched Yuki's gold coin and beat her badly. Just then Sammum arrived; Sammum cut all of them into two pieces. Yuki got scared; she said, "You are a devil." She refused to take the gold coin. Sammum went and returned the gold coin to its original owner.Sammum wanted to make Yuki happy. Sammum asked Yuki, "Why do you work so hard?" Yuki said, "I want to go to my home." Sammum said, "I was the one who blocked that path, I can take you." Yuki asked, "Can you really take me?" Sammum said, "Yes."
The next day, Yuki went to give medicinal herbs to Saif. Saif was half-human and half-genie; he was the son of Sammum's brother and he was sick. Yuki told him, "You will get well with this." Sammum said, "You are my brother's son." Saif said, "You can make me well, I hate this body." Yuki left from there and Sammum followed her. Sammum brought Yuki new food every day and tried his best to make her happy.
Every night, Yuki made a dress. Sammum asked her, "What is this?" Yuki said that when she goes to her home, she will wear this dress. Sammum asked, "You can make it during the day too, why only at night in low light?" Yuki said, "I have to work during the day." Sammum took her into his lamp; Yuki became very happy. Yuki started to love Sammum, and Sammum also liked her very much.Yuki and Sammum were ready to go home when Sammum found a new master. His new master was the same one who had thrown Yuki into the storm—Badr. On the other side, Sammum's brother changed his son's body with that of the rich man. Saif could make a magical ring that makes a genie weak. Sammum told Badr, "Ask your first wish." Badr said, "Make me the richest and most powerful in the world." Sammum said, "Your wish is fulfilled, now ask the second wish." Badr said, "Kill everyone who is jealous of me."Sammum went to Yuki. Yuki was in the market when Badr arrived there and asked, "What do you want?" Yuki refused. Yuki was wearing the dress she had made when Badr called Sammum and said, "I want that girl who even refused my money." Sammum said, "Your wish is fulfilled." Sammum turned around; Yuki was there. Sammum said, "How are you here?" Then Badr said, "Kill this girl." Sammum stopped all of them, but then Saif put the ring on Sammum's finger and killed Yuki with a sword. Sammum reached her with great difficulty and said to the people, "You can ask 3 wishes from me, just take off my ring. And the first wish will be to save Yuki." But no one came forward. Sammum begged, he cried a lot, but no one came forward. With great pain, Yuki took off that ring and died.
Sammum destroyed the entire city and said to the Almighty while crying, "I accept every punishment, but just let me meet Yuki one more time." He was suffering and crying, and then he became imprisoned in his lamp.
