The Blurb, Character and Family Description
In the neon-soaked chaos of Mumbai, Navya Rawal is a girl made of quiet corners and graphite sketches. From her middle-class balcony in Dadar, she watches the world, and the world’s biggest obsession: Ruhaan Malhotra. To millions, he is a silver-screen god, a comet streaking across the sky. To Navya, he is the boy with the lonely eyes she captures in her secret sketchbook, a soul she admires from the safety of the shadows, never once dreaming that the light would ever shine back.
Ruhaan Malhotra has everything: fame, fortune, and a silhouette that belongs to the public. But behind the camera’s flash, he is suffocating in the noise. He isn’t looking for another fan; he’s looking for a sanctuary. He finds it on a rain-drenched evening in a narrow, dusty bookstore, in the form of a girl who doesn’t scream his name, but hands him a book of poetry instead.
What follows is a slow-burn symphony of whispered conversations at Marine Drive, shared umbrellas in the monsoon, and the gentle, heart-stopping realisation that some stars don’t want to shine, they just want to be seen. In a city that never sleeps, Ruhaan and Navya find a love that breathes in the silence, proving that sometimes, the most beautiful stories are the ones written in the shadows.
Character Description and Family:
Navya Rawal (24):
·Persona: Soft-spoken, observant, and deeply artistic. She has an “old soul” quality, preferring the smell of old books and wet earth to the glitz of modern Mumbai.
·Appearance: Natural beauty with expressive, “doe-like” eyes that see more than they reveal. She usually wears simple cotton Kurtis, a silver nose-pin, and carries a charcoal-stained sketchbook everywhere.
·Internal World: She is content in her life. She doesn’t have a “Fan-girl” obsession; it’s a deep, poetic admiration for Ruhaan’s craft. She believes her place is in the audience, never the protagonist of his life.
Ruhaan Malhotra (27):
·Persona: The reigning Prince of Bollywood. On-screen, he is charismatic and larger-than-life; off-screen, he is introspective, tired of the “Mask,” and craves a genuine human connection.
·Appearance: Strikingly handsome with sharp features, but it’s his eyes, often described as “brooding” by the press, that hide a deep yearning for normalcy. He looks most like himself in a plain hoodie and glasses, hiding from the world.
·Internal World: He feels like a product owned by the public. When he meets Navya, her lack of “star-struck” energy acts as a grounding force, making him feel like a man rather than a commodity.
The Rawal Family:
·Amit Rawal (Father): A retired government officer who loves Sudoku and evening walks. He is Navya’s moral compass, gentle, protective, and full of dry wit.
·Meena Rawal (Mother): The heart of the home. Her life revolves around her kitchen and her daughters. She has a “sixth sense” for Navya’s moods and provides the warm, maternal comfort that Ruhaan eventually falls in love with.
·Ruhi Rawal (Younger Sister): 19, bubbly, and a bit of a tease. She provides the light-hearted energy in the house and is the first to suspect Navya’s “secret” sketches.
The Malhotra Family:
·Advait Malhotra (Elder Brother): A soft-spoken architect who handles the family’s investments. He is Ruhaan’s best friend and the person who keeps him sane amidst the industry madness.
