What is your opinion?

Excellent story!

"An atmospheric rags to riches to rags tale that I tore through. I was riveted by the plight of Richard. Which of us out there hasn't dreamed of wealth and fame? If given it, then suddenly had it taken away, imagine the depths of our despair. I liked how you only used a little dialogue with other characters. I think it emphasized his sense of isolation and despair. I actually caught myself gasping out loud when children pointed at him in the street. Thanks for the great read!"

Very Well Written!

"Hello there my friend! I have to say that this is one of the best pieces I've read in a while. The whole thing was flawless! The plot was amazing, the flow on time, the descriptions were vivid, the characters alive and believable. I have no complaints whatsoever on this short story. In the beginning, I was disappointed that there was not much dialogue in the while story, but I ended up liking it better this way. It felt more realistic to me and it made the ascension and decline of Richard's success all the more saddening and realistic. Very well done! Bravo! I enjoyed every bit of this piece!"

A tragic tale

"Most of the time, I don't like stories that don't have specific dialogue, but you pulled it off masterfully in this story. The writing was powerful and the story even more so. Despite his arrogance and perhaps vanity, I sympathized with the main character and his plights. It hurts to fall from such a high plane. And I like how you tied it all right back to that specially, sun-shaped mirror. I also enjoyed the setting and the incorporation of the movies and Hollywood. It made it even more interesting and gave it a grounded setting. Very cool story. Well done! I love your writing."

Tragic

"That was amazing! You really did a good job there. Except for one thing. There wasn't enough. Where was the feeling? The emotion? Where was the umph?! I really liked the story, the premise was really good, it was just that you didn't describe what was going on enough! I couldn't live in the character's skin. I still liked it a lot though!"

Great Story!

"Great story! I enjoyed your writing style, prose, and story telling. You should look at your use of semicolons; the sections of the sentences which follow your semicolons do not represent complete sentences. Also, there are a few places where you have used a comma to emphasize the the end of a sentence, which seem excessive. I love using commas and semicolons myself, but likely overuse them as well. Just food for thought. Excellent story though, I enjoyed it and you got my vote."

So gripping that it didn't even need dialogue

"This is a great story, complete with research into the time period, a suspenseful plot, and plenty of empathy to be had for the character. It makes you realize how different life was in those days. And what's more, there was no dialogue in the story, and none was really needed."

Tragic

"An interesting story with no explanation,? Where did the mirror come from? Why was he shunned by everyone? Was he cruel or uninteresting? Was he extremely handsome? But it's appropriate, since that's how we go through life, with no explanations.. This was a great time period to write about that for others was so exciting but devastating to the stars of the dying industry who couldn't make the transition."
