Never thought I'd meet you again
One fine morning Arthur was laying back on his bed thinking how would the first day of senior year be at CrestView high and how his father left him and his mother 2 years ago and left Arthur the only one who was making living for both of them.
But his thoughts were soon interrupted from my loud bang on a front door, he merely thought it was the newspaper man and yelled, "Just stop banging the door, you don't want to break it then pay for it. Just leave the paper down, I'll take it later."
He soon heard footsteps receding far and relaxed but not for long. The supposed paper man ran and broke in through the door. Arthur rushed downstairs only to find David standing there drunk and dirty with a bottle of wanderstone in his hands.
He said in anger "Dad? Have you lost it? Do you know how much it's gonna cost getting the door to back where it was? he tried coming himself and continued "Well, why would you? Although Jessica pays everything for you since you've been screwing her for the past 2 years."
Jessica always paid everything for David. Jessica was the co-founder of Cloud Datapilot which was a well reputed AI organization in Riverbend. That's where David used to work when Jessica's fiance, Matt died. David was a good man but only was so addicted of drinking, he just used to comfort and support Jessica and that's when the table turned. They fell in love or maybe just lust. Since then Jessica has been David's babysitter. And as for Arthur and Lauren, they moved to Mooncrest, a town a bit far from Riverbend.
"Don't you dare say anything about my Jessica, she's just lost Matt" David spoke angrily.
"That was 2years ago dad... Do you know how me and mom have been living since then? Arthur counter questioned.
" You and Lauren don't deserve a penny from me.. I am ungrateful that you are my blood. You and your habits, all belong to Lauren, that bitch."
"Arthur's eyes widened in shock as he repeated "Lauren, bitch? " he continued "What were you then dad? A traitor?" as he stepped towards David with his fist closed.
"I'm going to remind you what you are David" said Lauren from outside the broken door.
"You are nothing but a stain on the brown family and a certified gold digger.... and you're right, you're extremely ungrateful, but that's because you don't deserve us in your life." she continued "Throw this man out of my house Arthur and pray God I don't kill him."
David smirked annoyingly and dropped his bottle on the ground and left. He created a mess there.
Lauren moved towards Arthur coz he was visibly angry and said "Hey, don't be like him..... I know it's difficult facing all this but once you get into Columbia, yale or Princeton we leave this place and never come back here okay? be brave my boy." Arthur just nodded his head and went to his room.
The next morning when he stepped into the campus of CrestView high, the campus was huge. As he entered he saw a football ground , tennis ground, badminton court and posters of swimming competition which suggested there was also a pool . The campus was spread wide while students walked around normally . He was at a place where all people to him were unknown strangers but that wouldn't stop Arthur from being the all famous boy he used to be in Riverbend. He was searching for his class when a girl yelling at somebody punched him ,well well, she was actually aiming the wall.
"S-Sorry, I didn't mean to punch you" she said. She looked at he person beside her and continued "See, It's because of you I punched this- this gentlemen" She turned to Arthur and said "Are you alright ? It's just my temper, I don't seem to be getting control of it." and smiled.
"It's okay, you don't look like someone who would could hit anyone this hard" he says while lifting his shirt to show the red patch she just made on his six pack abs.
"I know, my dad thought me to fight , he knew that the future would demand it or hell amount of girls would've been dead."
The word 'DAD' echoed in his mind like some fire alarm , he always wanted to be loved by his father since childhood but David would be drunk all the time and as Arthur grew up he subsided all of it in him but somepart of him still wanted it , seeing other people get love and concern from fathers was kinda hard for him.
He snapped out of his thoughts when she snapped her fingers on his face. "Never mind, would you tell me where senior year classes are being held? " he asked.
"Oh! So you're new ,well I don't know why people don't hate this place already. Also you're classes are on second floor Mr.lost , thank me later" as she went towards where sophomore year classes were held. Arthur found his classes upstairs and went inside and saw students sitting in a group as the teacher wasn't there yet. He sat down thinking of the girl he just spoke to and all he could see or think for a while was her light brown hair and brown eyes which were glamourous.
So now let me tell you who she was: A girl who always showed that she was full of attitude but was soft from heart and always failed at showing it. Personality which parents appreciated but friends made fun of. A girl full of fun except her friends said that only drinking and smoking was fun which she never enjoyed. You know what the best part is? She never had boyfriends. God! How can that be possible? Oh it was because boys around her were just full of lust and she never wore anything exposing which would bring boys to her, that was another reason her friends called her boring. At the end I say, her name was ASHLEY WILSON, and her best friend Emily Candela who was technically Italian but migrated ages ago and hence called Candy in normal life.
