The Girl the Wind Chose The Girl the Wind Chose

Some Goodbyes Never End

ACT: I The Beginning

Chapter One: The Girl the Wind Chose

"Sometimes destiny doesn't knock. It simply scatters a few pages across your path."

The first autumn wind arrived earlier than expected.

Golden leaves drifted lazily across the university courtyard as students hurried toward their morning lectures. Some laughed with friends, others stared at their phones, while Ethan Cole walked alone, his hands buried deep inside the pockets of his faded hoodie.

He always walked with his head down. People fascinated him, but conversations frightened him. His dream wasn't to become famous or wealthy.

He wanted to write stories that made strangers feel understood.

As he crossed the courtyard, a powerful gust swept through the campus.

Hundreds of loose papers exploded into the air like frightened birds.

"No... no, no!" a girl's voice cried.

Sheets covered with delicate pencil sketches flew in every direction.

Without thinking, Ethan ran after them.

One page landed in a flower bed.

Another clung to a bench.

A third struck his chest before falling into his hands.

It was a drawing of a lonely boy sitting beneath an enormous tree.

The sadness in the picture felt strangely familiar.

Within minutes, Ethan had collected nearly every page.

Breathless, he turned to the girl kneeling on the pavement.

She looked up.

Their eyes met.

For a moment, the noisy campus disappeared.

"I'm... sorry," she laughed softly, brushing a strand of chestnut hair behind her ear. "The wind apparently hates artists."

Ethan couldn't help smiling.

"i think it likes introducing people."

She blinked, surprised.

Then she laughed again.

It was the kind of laugh that made ordinary mornings feel unforgettable.

"My name is Clara," she said, extending her hand.

"Ethan."

Their hands met for only a second.

Neither of them knew that one small handshake would quietly change the course of two lives.
