Benditos sean los ignorantes que no padecen más que la ansiedad de una eventualidad medible y por lo tanto, inmediata. Porque sin importar la lejanía de las semanas, meses y años que los mortales puedan enarbolar para justificar su angustia, nada se compara a la expectación impotente de la perpetuidad.

Tic, toc.

Sufro de ansiedad.

Es una enfermedad común en todos los videntes, una patología que nace y se traduce en la espera de un porvenir ya vislumbrado. Cuando uno es conocedor de su destino, la percepción del tiempo se altera exponencialmente, trocando segundos fugases en vastas infinitudes.

Tic, toc.

El tiempo es cruel con nosotros. Un relojero estelar que se regocija en su mezquindad omnisciente, que reserva para sí los altos saberes de la relojería primordial, dejándonos contemplar solamente el perfecto y uniforme desplazamiento de una manecilla sobre una superficie esférica, al son de engranajes invisibles.

Tic, toc.

“Paciencia”, me pide el anciano lanudo de piel quebradiza y ojos apagados, postrado en la cúpula del reloj de arena contiguo. Los granos de arena casi han llenado el receptáculo inferior.

Nuevamente espío por el borde de mi cúpula, solo para reconfirmar frustrado que los arenales de mi reloj apenas podrían considerarse incipientes.

“Paciencia”, me repite el vejestorio.

¿Por cuánto tiempo ha esperado el anciano? ¿Y cuánto esperaré yo? ¿Cuánto dura la eternidad?

Tic, toc.
