"I enjoyed this. As many have said it is short but I noticed that it has been published so that might explain that. It took a while to get going and I have to admit in the first chapters I skipped as they repeated. It could do with tightening up in places. Certainly a good read and well done. Nice that there was no gratuitous sex and the violence was handled very well. Still chilling without being graphic. Good job, well done."

"I love this book so much I stayed up till midnight to try and finish off the story! If you're new to Inkitt, this is the first story I would recommend! Keeps your eyes glued to the screen of your device, the plot is BOMB. Though there are some grammar errors and some missing words, this is perfect."

"Hey, Just read this and had to leave a review. I really liked your story. I love how the initial setting in the city imitates ancient society even though it's set in an apocalyptic future. Your descriptions of your characters make it easy to imagine them as I was reading. I love how every time I feel the story is starting to set into a routine, there's some kind of crazy event that turns everything upside down. Towards the end when the village attacked was an amazingly intense scene and I love that your the kind of author that isn't afraid to use character deaths, especially those we love like Fire, to drive the story forward and provide more ways for the other characters to change. This one does need a good looking over. On a whole, the grammar and spelling was pretty good, but there were several little things here and there. There were a lot of instances of incorrectly used words, you know like when you misspell a word, but because the misspelling is an actual word, spellchecker doesn't find it. Also, there were a few instances in your dialogs where the quotes weren't attributed, so it was hard to tell which character was speaking. Additionally, there were a one or two places in your dialogs that had incorrect punctuation. I love the little hints of foreshadowing you're laying down. Although, with the coughing thing, it almost is a little too much. By the end, we all know there's going to be something crazy coming with this disease or whatever that she's picked up. It does push me to want to read the next one though. Overall, I loved the story you've presented here and I'm off to read the next one. Keep up the good work."

"I chose this rating because there are a few scattered punctuation/ grammar issues in the writing. But I am a sucker for a good story and having a castles and caste syatem and then having the adventure of riding across an iradiated wasteland is fantastic. "

Slow at times. Too fast at times.
"I'm glad there is a book 2 and will start reading it right now. My only issue is with the writing style, which in turn affects the plot a little bit. The only way I can describe it is it had quite a big of unnecessary extras. I kind of rushed through them. If the writer feels these need to be there, perhaps it is the way or the moment they wrote it that seems odd. This has to do with pacing. I have that issue too so I've been working on spotting those things. "

Good story, but...
"WHERE ON EARTH IS THE REST OF IT?! I just finished it, and the ending left me wanting a lot more. Apparently this story is complete, but I feel that there should be much more. Your story is very good. I enjoyed the plot, and I felt that the characters were very real. If the spelling and grammar of this story were fixed up, and the story was ABSOLUTELY FINISHED, then I reckon this could become publishing material. I love this world
"I really enjoy the world this author has created. I felt like it was unique and different than most dystopian novels I've read. The society living in the city is very interesting and well thought out. The village is also a neat concept and as I learned more about their way of life I found their society very interesting as well. I enjoyed the story, but I feel like there was a lot of hurry up and wait...the action was sandwiched between a lot of filler that I didn't think really added to the plot or drove the story forward. I'll be honest, there were times I really had to force myself to keep going to get through this book. Ultimately I loved the ideas and basics of the plot though. I'd just like to see it filled out a little differently. I didn't like the characters. Even the main character didn't have much depth as written, but the character concepts were fantastic. In short I think this story needs A lot of work, but has great potential. I'd love to read more by this author."
